Canterbury Archaeological Trust are proud to have collaborated with the Beaney House of Art and Knowledge and Canterbury Christ Church University to create the upcoming What Remains? Canterbury’s Ancestors: Ethics, History, & Science exhibition.
Studying our ancestors reveals who they were, how they lived, and their stories. Advances in science continue to uncover more, but should human remains be displayed in museums? You’re invited to explore the evidence, share your views, and reflect alongside the community.
Join us to engage with scientific studies that reveal hidden history and help answer the ethical question of whether human remains should be displayed in Canterbury Museums and Galleries. Admission is free, from Saturday 18 October 2025 to Sunday 29 March 2026 (closed on Mondays).
Featuring research by expert osteologists, conservators, and archaeologists from Canterbury and Kent.
