Ken White Week begins this Saturday, 20th June! 🖼🎨

Join us as we celebrate the life and creative legacy of Swindon artist Ken White (1943–2025) with a special exhibition and hands-on programme of artist-led workshops at Lydiard House Museum.

Lydiard House Museum will be open Wednesday - Sunday, 10am - 4pm, between 20 and 28 June.

Admission costs £6.70 for an adult and £3.65 for a child (under 3s go free). Family tickets are also available.

Ken White Week: Linocut Workshop 🎨

Create your own unique print inspired by the work of celebrated Swindon artist Ken White, who was known for his evocative linocut prints.

Join us at Lydiard Park on Thursday 25 June (10.30am – 1pm) for a hands-on linocut printmaking workshop led by artist Sophie Bullock. Learn how to carve, ink and print your own design using traditional lino-cutting techniques, and take home your finished artwork.

£25 per participant (all materials included). Suitable for ages 18+.

New acquisition at Lydiard House Museum 🖼

If you’re joining us for a Guided Tour of Lydiard House with Cream Tea in the coming weeks, you’ll have the opportunity to see our latest acquisition.

This portrait of Hon. George St John (1693 – 1716), eldest son of Henry, 1st Viscount St John, and Angelica Magdalena St John, has been generously donated by the Friends of Lydiard Park.

New activities for Ken White Week 🖼 🎨

Get creative at Lydiard House Museum this June with a programme of artist-led workshops inspired by the life and work of acclaimed Swindon artist Ken White (1943 – 2025).

In addition to our special exhibition, Ken White: The Creative Legacy of a Swindon Artist, you can also take part in:

• Sat 20 June: Tile Tales - Styrofoam Printing Workshop with artist and educator, Sue Bardwell
• Weds 24 June: Collaborative Collage with artist Billy Beaumont (FREE)
• Thurs 25 June: Linocut Workshop with artist Sophia Bullock

Guided Tours of Lydiard House with Cream Tea:

Step inside and experience the historic State Rooms, where ornate plasterwork, original furnishings, portraits and photographs bring the story of the St John family to life.
