What a fantastic start to 2026, thank you to all our visitors so far, lovely to welcome so many of you following the trail.

For those that have not visited, as part of the Open Studio Art Trail, we are venue 30 2 doors from venue 29 and within walking distance of venue 31 making Wareham a destination for you to visit. Don’t forget to pop next door to our neighbours for some delicious refreshments during the trail.

So pick up your leaflet (we have them available outside of the gallery) or visit www.purbecksartweeks.co.uk make sure you check studio opening times and plan your trail, there are over 30 Open Studios taking part complimented by an exciting programme full of events and concerts.

We are open Wed to Sat, 10am to 4pm so pop by, say hello and visit our exhibition in the rear gallery, and browse our creations and the works of selected local artists and makers.

Tranquillity, original framed mixed media on canvas by Esme James, Grange Gallery.

This original mixed media on canvas captures the profound peacefulness of a sunset, and it’s vibrant warm colours providing a calm soothing end to the day. Framed in a bespoke solid Oak frame, handmade by Jason Cameron at Grange Gallery.

This work forms part of Esme’s collection of works that explores light, colour and movement.

This original work is available to purchase by visiting Grange Galley in person or online via the website.

‘Peeping Deer’

Fresh from the workshop, this wooden clock is part of Grange Gallery’s engraved wildlife series inspired by the Dorset countryside.

The engraved range includes art and homeware, designed and made by Jason and Esme here at the workshop, Grange Gallery.

Each design starts as a pen and ink drawing and is then engraved on to wood, each clock is fitted with quartz movement. Visit Grange Gallery to see more designs or visit the website.

Stunning limited edition prints of original watercolours, capturing the Jurassic Coast by Cathy Veale, Dorset.

Specialising in large seascapes with an unmistakable style, Cathy’s evocative paintings are full of luminosity and colour.

Created from a passion for painting water, and after being brought up on the Isle of Purbeck; walking, running and sailing, Cathy is drawn to the coast and fringes of land for her inspiration.

Cathy has exhibited her celebrated works alongside Britain’s leading watercolour artists, at the Mall Galleries with the Royal Society of Marine Artists and the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour and the South West academy of Arts.

We have a number of framed, unframed prints and cards for you to browse in person at the gallery and a selection online.

⚜️New arrivals⚜️

Welcoming this wonderful trio of works; The Oystercatcher, Avocets at Sunset and Two Puffins on a Rock, all original artworks by Cliff Towler, Dorset.

These delightful characters are on display at Grange Gallery and are available to view and purchase on our website too - just click on the link in our bio to view.

Cliff enjoys working with acrylics and watercolours, he paints a variety of wildlife, including birds, from avocets to oystercatchers, puffins resting on the rocks to osprey in full flight. His detailed, vibrant, gentle paintings capture the spirit and motion of his subject at a particular moment in time.

Also on display at Grange Gallery is a selection of Cliff’s limited edition mounted prints and greeting cards.

Our engraved art forms part of our series of wildlife engravings from our Grange Art Collection which is inspired by the Dorset countryside.

Each engraving starts from one of Esme’s original pen and ink illustrations. Once engraved on to wood it is mounted on to board and we paint using Farrow & Ball, we make our own frames using solid Oak.

The series is designed and made by us, Jason and Esme in our gallery studio/workshop, Grange Gallery, Wareham.

Our collection of engravings are available to view and purchase online by visiting our website or in person by visiting Grange Gallery, Dorset.
