A fantastic couple of days for 69th Field Regiment Display.
We have been at a lovely school in Warrington which was built on part of what would have been in WW2 and later - Burtonwood Airbase.
The school is heavily into local history and ensuring the children learn about it.
John from the Burtonwood museum had put an excellent display in the foyer.
We spent 2 days doing talks for the children (all 650 !!) And fired the field gun on the monday for all the school and Tuesday afternoon again for the parents & family.

At 69th Field part of our mission statement is to educate children and pass on the history of WW2.

The children are our future .......

Wonderful evening at Wigan RAF cadets.
We were invited to attend their meeting this evening at the Veterans Hub Wigan (Molyneux House) to give them a chance to get up close to the 25pdr.
We did an hours talk on how the gun worked, the mathamatics behind survey, plotting, the director and different types of amunition and charges.
Some of the cadets had the chance to have a go at being "gun crew" and popping off some primers.
Its lovely to be asked and this continues our work with various groups of youngsters in military training.
(No pics of cadets due to restrictions)

Finished refurbishing my wooden C206 boxes. These were never a WW2 thing but something I made to store live 25pr blanks. Storing live blanks in metal boxes is not a good idea but I wanted something would not look out of place during a show. Being about 12 years old they had started to fall to bits so I have repaired strengthened and repainted them ready for show season this year.

I have just finished up these 3 boxes. P59 and C206 Mk1 boxes. All 3 dated 1938 marked as 3.45 inch the early name for t...

I have just finished up these 3 boxes. P59 and C206 Mk1 boxes. All 3 dated 1938 marked as 3.45 inch the early name for the 25pr field gun. The C206 has 6 3.45 " stamped cases and 1 25pr dated 1938, I am still looking for 2 more 3.45 dated cases.
