St. Kilian's Heritage Centre

St. Kilian's Heritage Centre St. Kilian's Heritage Centre is dedicated to the life and times of St. Kilian - born in Mullagh in C The centre features many relics and replicas of St. Kilian.

A well-stocked exhibition area opens on to a small video theatre where one may view a short film on the life of St. The Centre also houses a craft shop where visitors may select artistic items of interest from a range of locally produced work. Adjoining the craft shop is a comfortable dining area where one may relax over lunch or coffee. Just outside is a beautiful picnic area where, on a sunny day, you can enjoy your coffee whilst taking in the picturesque environment of Mullagh, Co. Cavan.

Pastoral Parish Visitation of Bishop Martin Hayes

Friday 13 March 2026

9.30am
Arrival of Bishop Martin. Adoration and Rosary for the intentions of Peace in the World, All welcome

10.00am
Informal gathering in the Heritage Centre to meet senior parishioners, members of the Friendship Club, SVP., residents of Sonas, etc.

11.00am – 1.00pm
Visit to National Schools to meet children and staff, including chairpersons of the Boards of Management

2.00pm – 5.00pm
General visitation of the parish, including to the most senior lady and gentleman citizens, various amenities/activities in the parish, Parish Halls, Biodiversity amenities, Activity Hub, Cuchulainn’s CLG, Millrace Drama, Men’s Shed etc.

5.30pm – 6.30pm
Meeting with parish personnel, Pastoral Council, Finance Committee, and Safeguarding.

7.00pm
Parish Mass of Thanksgiving at the end of Bishop Martin’s Pastoral Visitation
Directly afterwards, the bishop will meet members of parish groups in the Heritage Centre for a cup of tea (e.g. Pastoral Council, Finance Council, Eucharistic ministers, Readers, choir members, collectors, counters, sacristans, florist, Altar Society those who look after the churches, Hall Committee’s The Heritage Trust etc, all who help out in any way in the parish).

Well done and thank you to everyone who supported the raffle at St Kilians Heritage Centre Christmas Fair. First prize in the raffle (Mc Nutt pure wool blanket) went to Daniel mc Carthy and second prize (Mc Nutt scarf) went to Kay Monaghan
