Right Now, Wrong Then (2015, Hong Sang-soo, South Korea) unfolds through repetition, awkward tenderness, and the quiet unpredictability of human encounters. In the subtle differences between two meetings lies a gentle reflection on perception, behaviour, and the possibility of becoming otherwise.

After Life (1998, Hirokazu Kore-eda, Japan) dwells in the fragile space between memory and meaning, where lives are revisited through moments of tenderness, loss, warmth, and return. In choosing what remains, the film gently reflects on what it means to have truly lived.

Certified Copy (2010, Abbas Kiarostami, Iran) moves through shifting identities, uncertain intimacies, and the fragile space between performance and truth. What begins as an encounter slowly unfolds into a meditation on recognition, longing, and the desire to be seen.

Join us at Conflictorium for a special screening of Five Films For Freedom 2026, by
***rmuslimproject ! This year's Five Films for Freedom selection includes heartwarming and personal stories from France, Brazil, UK, and Mexico.

Followed by a post-screening discussion with a set of q***r culture workers and film practitioners working across art, research, and pedagogy:

Shalwin Yoosuf: freelance researcher working on social policy, violence, and trans rights; currently with Centre for Social Justice , Ahmedabad.

Manas Daxini: Program Manager at Teach to ELICIT , and a q***r artist working across audio, film, body, and text - exploring art-making as a space for resilience, introspection, and self-making.

Savyasachi Anju Prabir: filmmaker and visual anthropologist teaching at NID Ahmedabad; his work sits at the intersections of film, art, anthropology, and memory.

Moderated by YSK Prerana, writer, translator, and Artistic Director at Conflictorium, thinking through critical arts administration and the politics of narrative building.
