A 1932 circular, titled “कांग्रेस का हुक्म” (Congress ka Hukum), issued under the direction of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, announces the observance of Gandhi Week from 2 to 8 October. Patel stresses that the celebration should reflect Gandhi’s principles and constructive programme. Congress workers and supporters are urged to buy khadi and encourage others to buy it, so that khadi stocks lying with Congress/khadi organisations can be sold The emphasis is on collective responsibility rather than waiting for a few wealthy patrons.Patel argues that Gandhi himself would expect people to demonstrate their commitment through practical action.

On 21 September 2026, Madhubani Painting Workshop, organised by Planet Patna in collaboration with Patna Paints, was a truly fascinating encounter with the art and traditions of Mithila.

Despite being injured, Mrs. Anita Singh taught every participant the fundamentals of Madhubani painting with wholehearted effort, warmth and incredible patience. Her dedication made the session all the more special.

A wonderful afternoon of colours, creativity, learning and a deeper appreciation for our artistic heritage. ❤️

A letter from the Duchess of Teck Hospital, Patna, sought old cloth, sheets and cotton materials from the Bihar Council of Women, materials that would be sterilised and repurposed as medical pads and dressings.

On this day in 1933, a historic letter was issued by the Secretary of the Council of State, Simla, regarding the meeting scheduled for 21 September 1933. The document recorded the proposed passage of a landmark Bill to establish the Medical Council of India, aimed at regulating medical education, qualifications, and maintaining an all-India medical register. Moved in the Council of State by Khan Bahadur Mian Sir Fazl-i-Husain, then Member for Education, Health, and Lands in the Viceroy’s Executive Council, the Bill received the Governor-General’s assent on 23 September 1933 to become the Indian Medical Council Act, 1933. This pivotal legislation laid the foundation for modern medical regulation in India.
