🐣 Mamma beccaccia.

Nel fitto del bosco non costruisce nidi elaborati né cerca luoghi appariscenti. Sceglie una semplice depressione nel terreno, qualche foglia, il silenzio.

Da quel momento tutto cambia. 🪶 È lei a covare le uova. 🌿 È lei a proteggere i piccoli. 👣 È lei a guidarli tra il sottobosco nei loro primi giorni di vita.

Discreta come sempre, la beccaccia affronta la maternità con la stessa qualità che la rende unica: l'invisibilità. Eppure, dietro quel piumaggio perfettamente mimetico, si nasconde una delle madri più attente del mondo selvatico.

🌱 In queste settimane, nei boschi del Nord Europa, molte giovani Regine stanno muovendo i loro primi passi seguendo la madre. Un piccolo miracolo di natura che si rinnova ogni primavera.

Deep within the forest, she does not build elaborate nests or seek conspicuous places.
She chooses a simple hollow in the ground, a few leaves, and silence.

Non è la più grande.
Non è la più colorata.
Non è nemmeno la più facile da osservare.

E forse è proprio per questo che la beccaccia è diventata, nel tempo, la Regina del bosco.

🪶 Vive nascosta tra le foglie, si affida a un mimetismo straordinario e percorre migliaia di chilometri ogni anno senza mai perdere la rotta.

🌲 Schiva, elegante e misteriosa, si lascia vedere solo da chi sa osservare la natura con pazienza e rispetto.

👑 Il suo regno non è fatto di castelli, ma di sottoboschi umidi, silenzi e sentieri poco battuti.

Forse la chiamano Regina perché non ha bisogno di imporsi.
Le basta esistere per affascinare chiunque la incontri.

☀️ The sun grows warmer… and the Queen changes her habits.

As the days become milder, the woodcock adapts its rhythm as well.
During this time, it seeks out cool and humid microhabitats, small corners of the forest where the ground remains soft and full of life.

🪶 Why there?
Beneath leaves, in moist soils and shaded areas, lies a fundamental part of its diet: earthworms, larvae and small invertebrates, which become harder to find when the ground dries out.

🌿 For the woodcock, it’s not just about temperature.
It’s about balance: finding the right place means finding nourishment, protection, and the ideal conditions to thrive.

Even when the sun changes the forest… the Queen always knows where to go.

Chiede rispetto, etica, conoscenza e tutela del suo ambiente.

Anche per questo il MuBec sarà presente al Caccia Village 2026 di Bastia Umbra, uno degli appuntamenti più importanti dedicati al mondo venatorio e alla cultura della caccia consapevole.

🪶 La scorsa settimana abbiamo raccontato la beccaccia come una Regina solitaria. Ed è vero: per gran parte della sua vita sceglie il silenzio, la distanza, il sottobosco.

Ma proprio adesso, tra aprile e maggio, qualcosa cambia.

🌿 È il tempo della riproduzione.
Il maschio rompe la solitudine e al crepuscolo attraversa il bosco con il caratteristico volo della “roding”, alla ricerca della femmina.

🥚 Lei, invece, torna invisibile.
Sceglie il terreno, le foglie, i luoghi più protetti dove custodire il futuro della specie, perfettamente mimetizzata nel bosco.

🌱 Anche nella stagione dell’incontro, la beccaccia rimane fedele alla sua natura: discreta, essenziale, silenziosa.

Perché la sua non è mai solitudine casuale. È equilibrio.

The male breaks his solitude and, at dusk, crosses the forest in the characteristic “roding” flight, searching for the female.

🥚 She, instead, becomes invisible once again.
She chooses the ground, the leaves, the most protected places to guard the future of the species, perfectly camouflaged within the forest.

🌱 Even during the season of encounter, the woodcock remains faithful to her nature: discreet, essential, silent.

Because hers is never a casual solitude.
It is balance.

La beccaccia non cerca compagnia.
Sceglie il silenzio, la distanza, l’equilibrio del bosco.

🪶 Vive da sola, si muove da sola, osserva senza farsi vedere.
Non è isolamento, è natura.

Nel sottobosco ogni spazio è misura, ogni presenza è essenziale.
E la Regina lo sa: la solitudine è la sua forza, il suo rifugio, la sua libertà.

🌲 Non è sola perché deve… è sola perché è così che vuole vivere.

🪶 Quanto vive la Regina del bosco?

La vita della beccaccia è fragile e intensa.
In natura, la maggior parte degli individui vive 2–3 anni, tra migrazioni, predatori e condizioni ambientali spesso difficili.

Eppure, quando tutto si allinea, può sorprendere: alcune beccacce arrivano a vivere oltre 10 anni.

🌙 Una vita fatta di viaggi silenziosi, ritorni fedeli e notti nel sottobosco.
Breve per molti… straordinaria per chi riesce a resistere.
