TÁIFINAKPO’

Galleria Poggiali Milano
Foro Buonaparte 52, Milano

Galleria Poggiali is pleased to present Táifinakpo’, the first solo exhibition in Italy by American artist Gisela McDaniel, opening on April 9, 2026 at the Gallery’s Milan space, coinciding with her participation in Subvert, Repair, Reclaim at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, on view through August 2026.

As Sophia Thowinsson writes in the exhibition catalogue: “On the occasion of Táifinakpo’, the artist invites us into a universe where identity is not fixed, but a living process in constant transformation and healing. The title is no coincidence. Táifinakpo’ translates literally as ‘without end’, but at a deeper level it also comes to mean ‘without death’. Rather than a linear conception of time, it proposes a persistence: that of ancestral memory and the active presence of those who came before us.”

Gisela McDaniel is an internationally recognised artist whose practice restores visibility to ancestral narratives while engaging with pressing contemporary social issues. Rooted in her Native American heritage, of Choctaw origin, her works honour intergenerational memory and amplify historically marginalised voices.

As Nicolas Ballario puts it “Andreas Zampella performs a gesture that has something of the archaic while at the same time being profoundly contemporary: he brings the stars back into sight by introducing them into a room. An unnatural constellation takes shape from the ceiling of the Galleria Poggiali. Ordinary objects, fragments of the everyday and relics of a byperfuactional civilisation are glued and suspended, released from the gravity of their fate. Where they ought to have fallen and been left to rot, they now shine. The darkness ignites them”.
We look forward to welcoming you! 🎆

Dove sarebbero dovuti cadere, restare, marcire, ora brillano. Il buio li accende”.
Vi aspettiamo! 🎆

The 2026 Chengdu Biennale positions itself as an international platform capable of connecting art from around the world with the city itself.

“Pulse of Life”, the title of this edition, brings together all aspects of everyday life under a more analytical lens: small things, wonder, time, and a renewed awareness of perceiving and living the hours.
Among the more than 300 works by over 250 international artists, “Cloud”, a video presented by Goldschmied&Chiari, explores perception, atmosphere, and suspended landscapes, inviting viewers into a contemplative and immersive visual experience. A special Thank goes to for making the production of this video possible and to for the beautiful Music for III Wind by Massimo Pupillo, Roger Ballen and Gabriele Tinti, from the album Fragments, published by Unsounds Records, © 2024.

Galleria Poggiali is pleased to present Il cielo sopra Milano, a show by Andreas Zampella curated by Nicolas Ballario. It consists of an installation that creates within the gallery an eerie and unsettling starry sky that the city of Milan can admire every night from outside the premises. The show will open on Wednesday 11 February in the Milan branch of the Galleria in Foro Buonaparte 52.
In a Milan where the stars can no longer be seen, where the sky has been annihilated by the street lights, by the advertising, by the continual self-reflection of consumption, the night still exists but it’s no longer dark.

The exhibition Heling by Bai Yiyi continues at our Milan venue until December 2025.

In the meantime, we are pleased to share an excerpt from the catalog essay written by Elisa Carollo:

“In particular, Yiyi has been interested in the healing possibilities of meditation and visualization as ways to reattune the soul with others, and the mind with a broader intelligence. Following the Dao, and the idea of a collective consciousness governing all life processes, Yiyi’s seemingly abstract and densely symbolic paintings visualize the multifaceted, fluid compenetrability and interconnectivity of all things. That is where both physics and Eastern mysticism converge, seeing the universe as a web of processes, patterns, and transformations: in Daoism, this is the ceaseless movement of yin and yang; in physics, it is the continuous flux of subatomic particles and energy fields.

Hacking on both this philosophical and scientific substratum, Yiyi already envisions alternative synthetic and symbiotic existential dimensions that might enable mutual survival and the preservation of energetic health. Fluttering and drifting into a fluid flow, Bai Yiyi creates revelatory visual embodiments of a reality built from a shared structure of fragmented particles—particles that connect, converge, and dissolve into one another. Just as blocked or imbalanced qi causes illness in traditional Chinese medicine, Yiyi’s blurring, dissolving figures could be read as attempts to restore harmony in a disrupted cosmic flow.

Yet, if the entire world of science is constructed on the basis of the world as we experience it [sur le monde vécu]; Yiyi’s art instead invites us to first reawaken this direct experience of the world, where science is only a secondary rational expression, and a more intuitive spiritual and emotional immersion comes first.”

✨ “Your body is like a universe, a vast landscape containing countless scenes,” explains Yiyi. “In his paintings, it is possible to witness different kinds of inner worlds, much like observing the real world around us.”

As Elisa Carollo writes in the catalogue of Healing, the artist’s layered and meditative practice turns inward, exploring the human body as a site of cosmic consciousness. His works embody the flow of qi—the vital energy that links humans with the cosmos—visualizing the simultaneity and interconnectedness of beings within a wider universal entanglement.

Healing, Bai Yiyi’s first solo exhibition in Italy, opens at Galleria Poggiali Milan, Foro Buonaparte 52, on October 1, 2025.
We look forward to welcoming you! 🌌

We are pleased to announce Healing, the upcoming solo exhibition by Bai Yiyi (Datong, China, 1992), opening on October 1, 2025, at Galleria Poggiali Milano. Based in Shanghai, Bai’s practice combines Taoist philosophy and New Materialist thought, envisioning reality as a constellation of particles in constant metamorphosis. Through a unique pointillist technique that merges classical Chinese dian hua and digital pixelation, his luminous paintings dissolve the boundaries between body, matter, and image.

His works are included in collections such as the Singapore Art Museum, White Rabbit Gallery (Sydney), Speed Art Museum, and Wemhöner Foundation and has exhibited in major international fairs such as Art Basel Miami, Frieze Seoul and Los Angeles.
