We are delighted to share that “Terça-Feira, 8 de Julho, 2025”, by Thomaz Rosa , has been acquired by the collection of the Pinacoteca de São Paulo.
The work was part of “Five to Nine”, a project developed in 2025 with quadra that brought together approximately 30 new paintings produced between 2023 and 2025. The exhibition marked an important moment of formal and poetic consolidation in the artist’s trajectory, in which the sky emerged as a recurring presence within his practice—not as a fixed subject, but as a field of continuous transformation.
Throughout his work, Thomaz Rosa draws upon references from both the official and unofficial histories of painting, bringing together procedures associated with modern and pop art and gestures shaped by error, accident, and the instability of the image.
The incorporation of this work into the Pinacoteca’s collection represents an important recognition of the consistency and singularity of Rosa’s practice, while reinforcing the presence of his work within contemporary debates surrounding the limits and possibilities of painting.
