Inside the evolution of protection.

The heart of every Dainese D-air® system is the Shield, a revolutionary airbag structure created using a patented microfilament technology.

Introduced in 2007 in motorcycle racing after more than a decade of research, D-air® evolved through rigorous scientific study, advanced data analysis and continuous system validation in real-world conditions.

In 2012, the technology was developed specifically for alpine skiing. The D-air® Ski integrates a dedicated airbag geometry and an algorithm calibrated to skiing speeds, dynamics and impact scenarios ensuring activation only when needed.

The objective has always been the same: deliver the highest level of protection through continuous innovation.

More than 25 years of development are preserved at DAR - Dainese Archivio.

The legendary Niki Lauda AGV X1 Air System helmet, worn by the Formula 1 legend during the dramatic 1976 German Grand Prix, finally returns to tell his incredible story, displayed permanently at DAR - Dainese ARchivio.

After over 37 years from its disappearence, this incredible piece of motorsport history is back for all the fans and enthusiasts.

Come to see it. DAR - Dainese ARchivio opens every Saturday from 11 AM to 7 PM, in Vicenza, Italy. Free admission.
