Step into the rhythm, colour, and raw honesty of the wet market through my solo exhibition, “Berapa Sekilo?” — a collection inspired by fish, flesh, price tags, memory, and everyday conversations often overlooked. Each painting captures moments of trade, survival, and beauty hidden within ordinary market scenes.
Come experience a body of work shaped by nostalgia, texture, and the living pulse of local culture.See you at the exhibition.

Meet Janice Lim, daughter of antique collector Lim Chow Nee, and the co curator and driving force behind this exhibition.

“It is never easy to preserve a legacy without truly understanding its value and beauty. When I begin to learn the history and stories behind each piece, I find myself enjoying the process even more,” Janice once shared.

Through this exhibition, she creates a rare opportunity for both herself and her father to work side by side, deepening her appreciation and connection to these treasured pieces.

This is more than an exhibition. It is a celebration of a family legacy, and a journey of discovery shared across generations.

Thi Kong a-Kia The Weight of a Letter

At 86, Mr Lim Chow Nee’s journey as an avid antique collector began with a simple discovery, a bucket of old coins left behind by his late father. What followed was a lifetime of passion, intuition, and remarkable finds that seemed almost destined.

“Thi Kong a-Kia” a child blessed by heaven, reflects a life guided by faith, memory, and quiet perseverance. From early letters to the iconic Penny Black, each piece tells a story of time and connection.

We warmly invite you to experience this deeply personal collection

Meet AweGallery’s Public Relations Executive, Lim Han Yang, who joined our team in September 2025.

Since coming on board, Han Yang has been closely involved in logistics coordination and event arrangements across several of AweGallery’s exhibitions and programmes.

With a natural strength in building relationships, Han Yang plays a key role in connecting people — particularly bridging meaningful relationships between artists, collectors, and the gallery. His calm presence and people-first approach help ensure that each event runs smoothly, both behind the scenes and on the floor.

At AweGallery, Han Yang supports the team in creating thoughtful, well-organised experiences where conversations, connections, and community can grow.

Meet AweGallery’s in-house Curator, Ong Jian Yang, who joined our team last November.

Since then, Jian Yang has curated Tan Szu Chiang’s recent exhibition, as well as The Art of Sound, in collaboration with the TechX team.

An architecture graduate, Jian Yang is also a professional watercolour artist and a skilled Chinese calligrapher. With his multidisciplinary background and a keen curatorial eye, he will be leading AweGallery’s team in shaping many of our upcoming exhibitions and events.

“I’ve always believed that an event presentation shouldn’t be confined by four walls, but guided by how content and aesthetics come together to express an idea.”
— Jian Yang

The Art of Sound

Sculpture, calligraphy, and sound come together as a single experience.

Here, sound is not background — it is a presence that shapes how we feel time, movement, and attention.

Inspired by horn-like forms that echo the rhythm of marching forward, the exhibition explores momentum and displacement — where time is no longer measured, but felt.

Move slowly.
Listen closely.
Notice how time shifts as you do.
