For tiden møter du to utstillinger som har utgangspunkt i husets historie. Bygget ble oppført som bolig for handelsfamilien Mack i 1838, og har seinere hatt en rekke funksjoner, blant annet som Folkets Hus fra 1911–2001. Cora Sandel bodde her
Som ung bodde Sara Fabricius i en leilighet i huset. Hun ble seinere en av Norges store forfattere på 1900-tallet under pseudonymet Cora Sandel. Cora Sandel/Sara Fabricius hadde et langt liv i Tromsø, Frankrike og Sverige, som maler, forfatter og privatperson. Gjennom utstillinger i andre og tredje etasje veves steder, tider og kunstnerskap sammen. Fokus på fotografi
På Perspektivet Museum anser vi fotografi som et viktig medium. I museets første etasje kan du ofte se fotoutstillinger. Mange er fra nordområdene, men vi viser også relevante utstillinger fra andre steder i verden. For å få perspektiver på liv i nord mener vi at vi trenger perspektiver fra andre steder i verden.

A visit to Perspektivet Museum offers stories from Tromsø, but also other parts of the world. The idea is to provide knowledge and curiosity about what it means to be a person with a northern vantagepoint. You will encounter historical objects, traces of the present day, photography and varied forms of artistic expression. You’ll find us at Storgata 95, in one of the city’s most beautiful old wooden buildings. Here we show changing exhibitions. In our exhibitions you will encounter both knowledge and art. Right now you will find two exhibitions that begin with the story of the building. It was build as the home of the Mack family in 1838, and has later had many uses, amongst other things as Folkets Hus – a meeting place for workers from 1911-2001. Cora Sandel lived here
Sara Fabricius lived in an apartment in the building in her youth. She later became one of Norway’s greatest writers of the 20th century under the name Cora Sandel. Cora Sandel/Sara Fabricius lived a long life in Tromsø, France and Sweden, as a painter, writer, and private person. In our exhibitions on the first and second floor, different times, places and facts are woven together. Focus on photography
At Perspektivet Museum we consider photography to be a valuable medium. On the ground floor you can often see a photography exhibition. Many are from northern areas, but we also show relevant exhibitions from other parts of the world. In order to get perspectives on the north, we believe that we also need perspectives from elsewhere.
