The Lapu-lapu Museum The Lapu-lapu Museum Over four centuries ago, Lapu-Lapu successfully lead his village to defend our country from foreign invaders.

The Battle of Mactan, a clash between Lapu-Lapu and Ferdinand Magellan’s forces is etched in Filipino history as our people’s first resistance to conquest. The Lapu-lapu museum, is primarily a Children’s museum, targeting Filipino children of grade school age and is one of Hiyas Kayumanggi’s efforts at rebuilding our hidden history. It not only tells the story of the Battle of Mactan but elaborate

s on the life of our first Filipino hero. His village-environ, upbringing and training, all of which contributed in molding a hero. The Lapu-lapu museum encapsulates treasures from our history which future generations can learn from and emulate. Opening soon, the museum speaks a language digestible to younger generations and seeks to educate them outside their classroom’s four walls.
