Welcoming Patrick H. Jones!

Duarte Sequeira is pleased to announce the representation of Patrick H. Jones (b.1987, London, UK).

Jones’ practice begins with observational drawings drawn from lived and sought experiences, woven narratively and physically through imagination. Rather than offering direct explanations, he leaves titles as clues, inviting viewers to interpret and create their own journeys.

His first exhibition with the gallery, Target (Braga, Oct–Nov 2024), marked the beginning of an ongoing collaboration. Since then, Jones has exhibited with Duarte Sequeira internationally at fairs in Seoul, Dallas, and Lisbon. He is currently in residency at the gallery’s headquarters in Braga, preparing for his upcoming presentation in Seoul.

Recent solo exhibitions include 1, LINSEED, Shanghai (2024); Array (tableau), Galerie P*P, Paris (2023); Dusk, LINSEED Projects, Shanghai (2022); After Dad, The Sunday Painter, London (2022); Limbes, Galerie P*P, Paris (2021); Juggle, Plaza Plaza, London (2018). Selected group exhibitions include The Third Perspective (curated by Francesca Gavin), The Merode, Brussels (2025); Little Tree, Ginny on Frederick, London (2024); Across the Pond, Eric Firestone Gallery, New York (2024); ART OnO, Duarte Sequeira, Seoul (2024); Reconfigured, Timothy Taylor, New York (2021).

Jahn und Jahn with Etcetera, a solo exhibition by the German artist Imi Knoebel continues on view until 25 October 2025 at our Hannam-dong, Seoul gallery.

Imi Knoebel’s work is among the most radical within the context of postwar
abstraction. Taking nothingness as a starting point, an idea famously encapsulated in Kazimir Malevich’s Black Square, Knoebel developed his own artistic vocabulary of forms. This vocabulary is not to be understood as something new, but rather as an expression of hope from which he draws. His position, which he conveyed in an interview at the time of his retrospective at the Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg, is to “have no imagination at all. And that’s sufficient. And you don’t need more. [...] What did Malevich say? Pure experience.”1 He sees himself as a painter and a worker, but not an artist.
