🎧 A glimpse from our Audio Guide for Two.

In 1967, Ulla Wiggen painted ”Trask”, her interpretation of part of one of Sweden’s first mainframe computers. At the time, few could have imagined how deeply computers would come to shape our everyday lives.

Bring a friend, a date or a curious companion and discover more stories from the exhibition ”Will You Be Profitable, My Friend?”. Our Audio Guide for Two offers short tracks about selected works, with questions designed to spark conversation along the way.

⚙️ How do you restore a moving work of art?

Outside Moderna Museet on Skeppsholmen stands ”The Paradise” (Le Paradis fantastique) by Jean Tinguely and Niki de Saint Phalle, one of the museum’s most beloved artworks.

Behind the scenes, our Sculpture Conservation team is carrying out one of the most extensive conservation projects in the work’s history. The seven moving machines created by Jean Tinguely are being carefully restored to preserve both their mechanics and the artists’ original vision.

In this video, our curators My Bundgaard and Marie Grima take you inside the conservation process and explain what is happening, and why it matters.

”The Paradise” will reopen in spring 2027.

🎧 “What if, instead of studying history, we start to produce it?”

In the audio guide for “House of Nisaba: New Stories of Painting”, many of the artists speak about their works in their own words. Some recordings were made in studios, others on mobile phones, carrying traces of different places, voices and ways of thinking.

Here, Mikołaj Sobczak reflects on q***r histories, friendship, mythology and resistance through his painting ”Parole, Parole, Parole”.
