THE IRISH AMERICAN HERITAGE MUSEUM ANNOUNCES FOUR 2026 IAHM REGIONAL IRISH CULTURAL AMBASSADOR PROGRAM SCHOLARSHIPS

Following the success of IAHM's 2025 Regional Irish Cultural Ambassador Program, IAHM is offering four scholarships to three preeminent Irish cultural and arts camps located in Canada, New York and North Carolina. Specifically:

- One (1) Leahy Music Camp IAHM Ambassador opportunity (July 5-9, 2026; New York State residents eligible).
- Two (2) Catskills Irish Arts Week IAHM Ambassador opportunity (July 13-18, 2026; prior students of O'Flaherty Irish Music Retreat [TX] eligible).
- One Swannanoa Gathering's Celtic Week IAHM Ambassador opportunity (July 19-25, 2026; New York State residents eligible).

This program, which is fully funded by generous donors in the IAHM community, furthers the Irish American Heritage Museum’s cultural and heritage offerings. IAHM’s Regional Cultural Ambassador Program provides geographically diverse opportunities for selected individuals to participate in artistic, cultural, educational and heritage-based programs throughout the United States and Canada.

APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED UNTIL COB JUNE 7, 2026.

Yesterday, May 26, 2026, we were honored to welcome Albany Mayor Dr. Dorcey Applyrs here at the Irish American Heritage Museum.

We had a lovely meeting discussing the exciting events and exhibitions we have planned for 2026, our ongoing mission to preserve Irish heritage and the universal immigrant story, and the vibrant IAHM community here in Downtown Albany!

We thank Mayor Dr. Dorcey Applyrs for taking the time to visit the Museum and for her continued support of Albany’s rich history, arts and culture.

Several weeks ago, Al Gonzalez (the MOST Irish Gonzalez I know!!!!) performed his brilliant show "OFFICER: Confessions of a South Bronx Cop” twice, over two nights, at the Irish American Heritage Museum's Flanagan Theater. It was a touching tribute to the men and women who are our communities heroes. Once I saw this show, I thought it would be a spectacular addition to the Irish Festival this week, in Schroon Lake. I asked Al if he would consider . . . and he will perform the show Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 4:30 PM, at the Schroon Lake Lodge.

This weekend's festival will be fantastic: great music, food, drink and shows. Come see it.

If you are a law enforcement family, come see "OFFICER!" It is a great telling through the eyes of a remarkably talented hero, himself.

THE COUNTDOWN IS ON!!

The Lodge at Schroon Lake's and the Irish American Heritage Museum's Annual Irish Weekend is this Friday and Saturday!!!

Vendors include The Irish American Heritage Museum, Ramble Tree Celtic Arts, and IAHM's own Resident Genealogist Lisa Walsh Upstate NY Genealogy by Lisa Dougherty.

The entertainment includes: Get Up Jack, Tim Wechgalaer (Friday), and Bethlehem Traditional Irish Dance, LLC, traditional Irish music sessions led by Senior All-Ireland Button Accordion Champion John Nolan, the Little Creek Band, Irish campfire jam session. The Master of Ceremonies is IAHM's own Michael Cornelius Clarke.

This year, after last month's remarkably successful two-show run at the Irish American Heritage Museum, Al Gonzalez will perform his critically acclaimed "OFFICER: Confessions of a South Bronx Cop" at 4:30 PM on Saturday at the Overlook Room at the Schroon Lake Lodge.

THERE IS NO ADMISSION TO THIS FUN- AND HERITAGE- FILLED WEEKEND AT THE LODGE AT SCHROON LAKE.
