“Two pieces. Two different energies.
One pulls you inward through layers of movement and shadow, while the other feels like freedom spilling over the edges. ✨
I’m obsessed with how these two paintings speak to each other in the gallery right now. The details, the textures, the movement… they change every time you look closer.
Which one are you drawn to first?”

Last night’s critique night was a small but mighty group — and one of those evenings that reminds us why community matters so much.
We didn’t just talk about painting techniques or composition. We talked about the reality of being working artists. How to sell your work. How to navigate markets. How to handle setbacks, self-doubt, growth, success, and everything in between that comes with building a creative life and business.
What makes these nights special is the openness. Everyone brings their experiences, ideas, questions, and encouragement to the table. It’s inspiring to watch artists grow over time — not only creatively, but also professionally — and to genuinely cheer each other on through every win.
Being an artist can feel isolating sometimes, so having a space where people can connect, exchange ideas, spark inspiration, and support one another is something really meaningful. We love meeting new people every month and creating conversations that go far beyond the canvas. 🤍
Thank you to everyone who came out and shared part of their journey with us. We’re already looking forward to the next one at Gallery Chimera.

One more week to experience the Frida Kahlo inspired show at gallerychimera.com 🌺✨
Every time I walk through the gallery and see people slowing down, reflecting, connecting with the work… it reminds me why spaces like this matter so much.
This show has been filled with color, emotion, resilience, femininity, and storytelling — all inspired by the spirit of Frida Kahlo and the incredible artists who brought their voices into the space.
If you haven’t seen it yet, this is your sign to come by before it closes next week.
And if you already visited… come one more time and bring a friend. ❤️

✨ Two artists. Two perspectives. One unforgettable exhibition. ✨

Summer Serenade by Leticia Bernadac and Me, Myself, and My Eye by Jamie Ballay are currently part of I Paint My Own Reality: Works Inspired by Frida Kahlo at Gallery Chimera.

From the layered elegance and movement in Leticia’s work to the expressive emotion and introspection in Jamie’s painting, these pieces beautifully capture the spirit of individuality, storytelling, and fearless self-expression that inspired this exhibition.

We love how differently these artists interpret emotion, identity, and reality — yet together they create such a powerful dialogue on the wall.

Some artists tell stories through figures.
Others through color, feeling, texture, and atmosphere. ✨

In I Paint My Own Reality at Gallery Chimera
, JaySketchbook blends portraiture and symbolism into a dreamlike reflection on identity and time, while Tara Coyt invites us into emotion through layered abstraction and movement.

Together, these works remind us that Frida Kahlo’s influence reaches far beyond portraiture — it lives in honesty, vulnerability, color, and fearless self-expression.

Currently on view through May 29th and available online and in person. 🌿
