That's a wrap on Adventures in Art 2026! 🐢🔎🌲
Today was the last day of our Adventures in Art program where every fifth grader in Auburn City schools come and hang out with us for a day! This year's theme was all about the Gulf, and we were so grateful to have the Grand Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve come and talk about the amazing work they're doing to preserve our Savanah ecosystems.
Students also got to be involved with hands on activities such as making prints of Longleaf Pines, decorating sections of a ceramic Gopher Tortoise shell, and becoming tree detectives as they talked about the value of prescribed burns in our gallery by studying photographs with artist Chuck Hemard. Overall, it was a wonderful week spent with all 700+ students, and we are already well underway with all the exciting preparations for next year!
