We’ve had a lot of folks asking and we wanted to share a little update about what happened last month regarding the shoplifting incident.

We are so grateful for this incredible community — for showing up for us locally, and for the kindness that poured in from near and far. We are truly blown away.

From here, we would just like to move forward. Out of respect for all involved, this will be the last we speak publicly of the event, and will not be sharing details.

There are a lot of great shops in Austin. Here’s why we’re different. 👇
🌿 We run on consignment. The majority of our shelves belong to independent Austin makers who set their own prices and keep the majority of every sale. No middleman markup. Just makers getting paid.

🤍 When we do buy wholesale, we buy Texan. Our books, our hats, a handful of curated finds — where we can, we source from Texas-based businesses. Keeping it in the state when we can’t keep it in the city.

🎨 We’re a platform, not just a shop. We’ve hosted markets, championed emerging artists, and given creatives a physical home at Springdale General in East Austin for three years running.

💸 Your purchase goes to a real person. A painter, a ceramicist, a candle maker, a jeweler — someone in this city building a real livelihood from something they made with their hands.

Three years ago, we opened the doors to a tiny 400 sq ft dream — 28 local artists, a whole lot of hope, and no idea what we were building.

Today, we’re 1,600 sq ft of handmade goods, local art, curated finds, and yes, even a few good books. 📚

Home to over 100 Austin makers and a community that showed up for all of it. 💪🏼

This shop has never just been a store. It’s been a gathering place for artists who need somewhere to belong, and for customers who want something that means something.

To our shoppers, our makers, our bakers, and every single person who has helped support us over the years, shared a post, gifted our artists’ work, or simply believed in what we were doing — thank you.

✨ Meet the Maven: Megan ✨

We’re excited to introduce Megan, one of our makers here at the Clover + Maven.

Megan is quiet at first, but once she warms up you’ll quickly learn she has the best dry humor and an amazing personality. She’s an Austin native now based in Pflugerville, creating art infused with 100% organic silliness (the best kind).

Her work is proudly AI-free and spans linocut, watercolor, screen printing, digital, and whatever medium inspiration decides to take over next. Lighthearted, full of character, and often featuring at least one of her three great loves: bad puns, cats, and Texas.

And if you’re lucky, you might also catch Megan behind the counter every now and then — she’s one of our Shop Mavens too 💚
