Welcome to the Beaufort Historic Site, set in the quaint seaport village of Beaufort, North Carolina. Beaufort, North Carolina's third oldest town, lies on the coast bordering the southern tip of the Outer Banks. Originally a fishing village and port of safety dating from the late 1600's, Beaufort has been visited by patriots, privateers, merchants and skilled craftsmen who built Bahamian and West

Indian style homes and public buildings. Approximately 150 of these restored historic homes proudly bear plaques noting names of earliest known owners and dates of original construction. The Plan of Beaufort Towne, laid out in 1713, survives in a 12-block area which today is on the National Register of Historic Places. Located in the heart of the Historic District is the Beaufort Historic Site, which depicts 18th and 19th century coastal Carolina. The Site houses nine historic buildings as well as the Welcome Center on almost two acres.

Beverly Glover-Wood retired from her work in the Washington DC area as an interior designer in 2012 and moved to Beaufort. At last she found time to pursue her long-time interest in painting!

As a designer, she enjoyed doing perspectives of rooms and buildings, work that serves her well when painting landscapes and village scenes. To hone her skills, Beverly studies painting under Heather Sink at Craving Art Studio in Beaufort.

She offers an eclectic array of paintings from abstract to impressionistic. Beverly paints in oils and acrylics. She is drawn to deep color and finds joy in painting landscapes, architecture, and the human form.
