While the United States prepares to celebrate 250 years, Southeast Texas is celebrating another milestone of innovation and impact — the 125th anniversary of Spindletop.

These commemorative plates, created for the 50th anniversary of the Spindletop gusher in 1951, are part of the Texas Energy Museum’s permanent collection. They honor the discovery that helped launch the modern energy age and forever changed Beaumont, Texas, and the world.

125 years later, the story of Spindletop is still shaping how we live, move, build, and innovate.

Today we proudly celebrate 20 years of dedication from Raphaella Corbello at the Texas Energy Museum!

As Assistant Director and coordinator of our annual Blowout fundraiser — the museum’s only fundraiser each year — Raphaella plays a vital role in supporting our mission and ensuring the continued success of the museum. Her hard work, leadership, and commitment behind the scenes help make this important event possible year after year.

For the past two decades, Raphaella has brought passion, creativity, and dedication to everything she does, helping connect our community to the rich history of energy and industry in Southeast Texas.

Thank you, Raphaella, for 20 incredible years of service and for all you do for the museum and our community. We are so grateful to celebrate this milestone with you!

🇺🇸⭐ The Texas Energy Museum is proud to once again participate in Blue Star Museums — a partnership between the National Endowment for the Arts and Blue Star Families, in collaboration with museums across America — offering FREE admission to active-duty military personnel and their families, including National Guard and Reserve.

The 2026 program runs from Armed Forces Day (May 16, 2026) through Labor Day (September 7, 2026).
