The Funderburg House

This 1906, 8,000 square foot mansion was built by Belvidere native Katherine Rhinehart and purchased in the 1930's by Hugh and Alice Funderburg.

It is now open for tours, rentals, and events. Stop by to visit!

Join us next Saturday, June 6 for the next monthly tour of the Funderburg House! This includes a full tour and a comprehensive history of the families involved with the house. A tour is about 1.5 hours long.

The tour begins at 10am and costs $10 per person. Please arrive 15 minutes early.

There are limited spots! Please call the Boone County Museum of History at (815) 544-8391 to check availability or for additional information!

On July 25, the Funderburg House is hosting our annual Clue & Fondue! Join us from 7pm to 10pm in a whimsical, wonderous W***y Wonka themed evening!

Cost is $40 per person. This gives participants access to the game AND a variety of heavy appetizers!

Clue & Fondue is a fundraising event hosted by the Boone County Historical Society at the Funderburg House. This event utilizes the gameplay of famous board game, CLUE, and transforms this historical home into a three-dimensional board game!

Participants gather fellow investigators to solve the Funderburg House's mystery! Groups traverse the multi-leveled building, investigate each rooms secrets, and deduce a solution! In down time, participants are encouraged to partake in available heavy appetizers and - of course - FONDUE!

The 3rd annual Boone County Art Fair is returning to the Funderburg House on Sun, June 28 from 11am to 3pm!

Browse and commune with Belvidere's local art scene on the lawn of the Funderburg House. Food trucks will be posted around the house to satisfy your appetite!

This Saturday, December 13th, come to The Funderburg House to celebrate Christmas traditions through decorations, food, drinks, music, and an optional ugly sweater contest! The Belvidere North High School choraliers will be performing carols and hors d’oeuvres and drinks will be available including FREE beer from 5 Bines Brewery. This event is from 6-8pm and costs $30 per guest. Purchase your ticket before they are all gone!

Tonight is the second night of The Twilight Tours at The Funderburg House! Explore and enjoy the beautiful Christmas decorations on all three floors of the house. These self-guided tours are from 5-7pm and cost $10 per person.
