As NASA’s Artemis II carried humans around the Moon for the first time in more than 50 years, we are reminded that every new step in space exploration stands on the shoulders of pioneers who made the first lunar age possible.

One of them was Dr. Robert E. Shurney, a devoted Adventist and NASA engineer whose work supported Apollo, Skylab, and the lunar rover.

From Apollo to Artemis, his legacy reminds us that faith, perseverance, and service can help carry humanity farther than we ever imagined.

Congratulations to Cristian Gonzalez, recipient of the Louise Dederen Digital Research Fellowship.

His research examines how early Seventh-day Adventists understood the Holy Spirit and how those views developed between 1845 and 1931. By working with rare pioneer writings, manuscripts, letters, and periodicals, Cristian’s project contributes to a deeper understanding of doctrinal development in Adventist history.

We are glad to support research that advances both Adventist scholarship and the preservation of important archival materials.
