CALL FOR ARTICLES

The editors of the Journal of Adventist Studies invite submissions of articles broadly dealing with the study of Adventism, including but not limited to Seventh-day Adventists, Millerites and other antecedents, and related groups. Articles may be from diverse methodological perspectives, but the editors welcome submissions especially from the disciplines of History, Religious Studies, Anthropology, and Sociology. Articles should present a clear thesis statement supported by evidence and should demonstrate their relevance and significance to the field of Adventist Studies.

Manuscripts should be submitted via the journal’s online portal:
https://digitalcommons.andrews.edu/cgi/submit.cgi?context=jas

Manuscripts must meet the following guidelines:
● 5,000 - 12,000 words including footnotes
● double-spaced
● The Chicago Manual of Style (18th edition) footnotes (no parenthetical citations)
● Microsoft Word file format (.doc or .docx)
● abstract no more than 150 words

Because articles are subjected to a double-blind review process, article pages themselves should not include any identifying information such as the author’s name or contact information. Authors are responsible for obtaining all necessary permissions to reproduce media and extracts. Unless stated otherwise by the editors, submissions must be in English.

The review process is estimated to take between 6 and 10 weeks. Articles should not be under review elsewhere.
