Howard Finster (American, 1916–2001), a preacher, bicycle repairman, inventor, and devoted family man, received a divine vision in 1976 that commanded him to start preaching through painting. He produced over 46,000 artworks and turned his property in Summerville, Georgia, into Paradise Garden, a remarkable art environment still open to visitors.

Johnny Swing’s “Murmuration” is on view with Alexander Calder and John Stephan in the background. As a master welder and sculptor, Swing is captivated by curves and biomorphic shapes, driven by endless creative energy. He merges this fascination with common materials into a shimmering, functional work that is reflective, swirling, and alive with movement.

Carole Harris consistently pushes the boundaries of quilt-making with layered compositions that explore time, memory, and history. She is captivated by the interplay of hue and pattern, often drawing inspiration from the colors, energy, movement, and rhythms from her hometown of Detroit, as well as from her travels.

“𝘠𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘰𝘸 𝘉𝘶𝘰𝘺” by John Duff, now on view in the 𝘗𝘶𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘉𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴 group exhibition celebrating artists who have consistently expanded the known in their visionary pursuits, often capturing moments in time that are timeless.

The casting of resin into closely packed sphere structures has produced complex, mysterious sculptures that rest, stand, and extend from the walls and floor, engaging the viewer in a journey of symmetry and balance. The application of flat primal colors to straight sections of cast resin serves to create simultaneously a new beginning and a definite end.

John Duff received his B.F.A. degree from the San Francisco Art Institute. He moved to New York City in 1967, where he currently resides. His works reside in numerous public & private collections, including The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, NY; LACMA, CA; The Metropolitan Museum of Art, NY; The Whitney Museum of American Art, NY; The Walker Art Center, MN; and The Seattle Art Museum, WA, to name a few. He has received several grants and awards. Duff has been widely exhibited at galleries and art fairs.
