These match burns are a continuation of earlier quilt-inspired burn drawings, utilizing a silhouette of Elon Musk’s design foible, the Tesla Cybertruck. The profile view of the Cybertruck repeats eight times in each drawing, like a mandala referencing the Eightfold Path, abstracted enough to take on the appearance of both benign and iconic forms.
The resulting burn materializes as North Star quilt geometries, asterisks, Greek crosses, saltires, or shapes that evoke the five Bronze Stars awarded to Livelsberger. The burning process abstracts the edges, softening the Cybertruck silhouette while leaving behind an incensed branding, bushy and smoky because of the style match used.
