VISITED HK on MEMORIAL DAY

Visited HKs grave on Memorial Day, permanent marker has not arrived yet. My nephew left a Confederate flag at the grave yesterday, but will probably be removed by the end of the day. HK is in Section 9A grave 662 of the Black Mountain Veteran's Cemetery.

Ancestry.com is a very useful tool for the SLRC, we use it as a search engine for finding people that don't want to be found, finding living descendants for Confederates buried in Arlington, But the annual automatic renewal is $479.00 Ouch!

Including car rental I spent $500 (also on a credit card) traveling to Elm Springs and back for the HK Memorial a few weeks ago.

And Brenna had to visit Urgent Care this week $200 (she's fine) But that's a total of $1200 out of pocket, for your Chief Trial counsel who mostly survives on his Social Security.

ARLINGTON UPDATE
DEAR COMPATRIOT

For everyone who called and wrote Governor Youngkin before he left office can take pride knowing they played a crucial part in our overall protective strategy.

Virginia’s history deserves protection, and we are grateful for the engagement shown by so many.

CURRENT STATUS
Our team and allies are initiating discussions with Arlington National Cemetery to move toward timely reinstallation. Three years is too long. And they, like us, recognize that delays introduce risk that could jeopardize our goal.

IMMEDIATE THREATS
With the 2027 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) underway and national elections approaching, there is a narrow window to complete the reinstallation. Leadership changes or new legislation could create additional roadblocks. Our goal is to build strong support in the House Armed Services Committee to keep the path clear for restoration.

ACTION REQUESTED
COMPATRIOT this is the moment for action. We are asking you to make a brief call to these important Congressional Committee Members. The goal is simple: urge them to support reinstalling the Reconciliation Memorial in time for America 250 — our nation’s 250th anniversary.

• My family and I are deeply disappointed that the Reconciliation Memorial at Arlington National Cemetery has not yet been restored.
• This year marks the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. The Memorial should be back in place by July 4th as a symbol of national unity and true reconciliation!.
• America’s memorial to reconciliation and shared sacrifice deserves to stand.
· Does your boss agree that America’s memorial to unity and reconciliation should be restored? (if they don’t know, can you ask them to find out and get back to you)?

Rep Don Bacon (R-NEB), a woke, retired USAF Brigadier General, is threatening to propose an amendment to the 2027 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that would block federal funding being used to restore the Reconciliation Memorial to Arlington National Cemetery.

SO YOU KNOW THE DRILL...

you can go ahead and call Rep Mike Rogers (202-224-3121) of the House Armed Services Committee and Senator Roger F. Wicker (202-224-3121) of the Senate Armed Services Committee, and tell that they need to kill any anti-Reconciliation Memorial Amendments to the 2027 NDAA. Then call your own Congressman & Senators and tell them to call Rogers and Wicker with the same message and be prepared to vote against the Bacon Amendment if it comes to a floor vote. We will be adding the House and Senate Committee members for future calls. The FIGHT continues!!

A NEW DIRECTION

" An 11 Count Felony indictment This week FBI Director Kash Patel and Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche announced a sweeping indictment Tuesday against the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), accusing the far-left nonprofit of fraudulently paying members of extremist groups like the Ku Klux Klan.
A grand jury in the Middle District of Alabama returned an 11-count felony indictment charging the SPLC with six counts of wire fraud, four counts of bank fraud, and one count of conspiracy to commit money laundering, according to the Justice Department (DOJ). Between 2014 and 2023, according to the DOJ, the SPLC "secretly funneled" more than $3 million in donations to at least eight individuals associated with violent extremist groups, including the Ku Klux Klan, United Klans of America, the Nationalist Socialist Movement, Unite the Right, A***n Nations affiliated Sadistic Souls Motorcycle Club, and more.
According to Blanche, the SPLC paid members of these extremist groups so it could create a "work product that reported on these activities."
WELL, WEL, WELL! We''ll be watching this very carefully. This event has emboldened us to start rebuilding & expanding the SLRC's infrastructure starting with an expanded web page and more staff.
One of the things we are working on is a site torn right out of the SPLC playbook - an online list for the groups, personalities, financiers and ideologies on the Left that despise Southern Heritage, monuments, culture and people.
And if the DOJ should get to first base on criminal charges we are already researching "conspiracy against rights claims that could be levied against defendants in the federal prosecution, including conspiracy against rights in monument removal cases! SPLC spearheaded the monument removal movement in 2015. We will need to see what the FBI turns up!
If we are to start in this direction, and without abandoning Arlington, we need your help NOW more than ever. Pray for us and our Nation! SPLC may be down, but they are far from out - They have $800 million in the bank - taking them on in any capacity will be the fight of the century. Coalition building needs to go into high gear!

Dear Editor,
Eight months after Secretary of War Hegseth promised its return, I write to ask why the U.S. Army and Arlington National Cemetery have still not restored the Reconciliation Memorial to its rightfule place in Section 16..

Sculpted by Confederate veteran Moses Ezekiel, the memorial honors post-Civil War reconciliation between North and South. Ezekiel was one of America’s foremost sculptors; he is buried at the base of the very monument he created.

That Ezekiel's enduring work of national healing remains unrestored feels especially incongruous during this sacred season of reflection and renewal.

The continued absence of this historic memorial dishonors both Ezekiel’s legacy and the diverse contributions of all Americans to our shared history. The Army and Arlington owe the public a clear explanation for the delay and a commitment to restore the Reconciliation Memorial without further postponement.

As our nation prepares to celebrate America’s 250th birthday in 2026, I write to urge the U.S. Army and Arlington National Cemetery to restore the Reconciliation Memorial in time for this historic observance.

Created by Moses Ezekiel — a Jewish American sculptor and Confederate veteran who is buried at the base of the monument he designed — the Reconciliation Memorial stands as a powerful symbol of national healing and unity after the Civil War.

Leaving it in boxes, unrestored, desecrates 500 graves in Section 16 and contradicts the very spirit of unity and shared American heritage that the 250th anniversary seeks to honor.

With millions of visitors expected during the Semiquincentennial celebrations, restoring this historic work would demonstrate our commitment to preserving the full, diverse story of America’s past — rather than erasing difficult chapters.

The U.S. Army and Arlington National Cemetery should act now to return the Reconciliation Memorial to its rightful place before the nation’s 250th birthday. Secretary Hegseth announced the restoration 8 months ago, and no details have been released on the timeline or a commitment to its restoration in 2026.

The rededication should include Country singer Lee Greenwood. Let's make 2026 an American birthday to remember. Stop slow-walking the restoration. Let's get it done.
