We recently received a generous donation from Mary Odell, and opted to utilize it for a beautiful new bench to place outside the Depot Museum. Mary stopped by soon after the bench was delivered and gave her approval.
Stop by and admire the train design by Paris Trumbower and fabrication by PG and M. The museum is open Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday from 1-4 pm.

Tomorrow, May 23, is opening day at the Brodhead Depot Museum. There have been incorrect posts that say that the Museum doesn't open until May 25. We will be there from 1-4 pm on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, and every Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday from 1-4 pm, throughout the summer. Come and see the new exhibits and revisit the old ones!

The museum will be open for the 2026 season on May 23, and continues to have free admission.

We hope to see you there!

Eileen Daniels gave an entertaining and interesting presentation at our April meeting. She’s modeling a vest that she colorized with rust, and she’s standing next to just a small sampling of the quilts that she’s made with vintage textiles.

The next meeting of the Brodhead Historical Society will be held on Monday, April 27. Following a short business discussion, our guest speaker will be local quilt artist, Eileen Daniels,
with a presentation entitled “Vintage Textiles With A Creative Twist “. She will highlight quilted items made with men’s ties, 1950s tablecloths, hankies, lace doilies, embroidered linens, aprons, crocheted pieces, and vintage dish towels. You will hear the stories that go with all the old linens that now have a new life.

Eileen has been a quilter for over 50 years , and loves to share her creativity. She also taught middle school home economics for 30 years. She continues to teach classes both locally and at the Great Wisconsin Quilt Show in Madison-when time permits!

Please join us for an interesting and fun program. The meeting begins at 7 pm in the Knight Addition of the Depot Museum, and is free and open to the public.

It's time! The Brodhead Historical Society will begin their 2026 monthly meetings on Monday, March 30th. The speaker will be Brodhead native Bill Pfisterer. He will be giving a presentation about his experiences teaching in Alaskan villages 60 years ago. Please note, THIS MEETING WILL BE HELD AT THE BRODHEAD LIBRARY, rather than the depot. There will also be a brief business meeting.

Please join us for an opportunity to hear this special speaker. Bill's presentation had to be postponed last March, so we are happy that we were able to reschedule. The meeting is free and open to the public, and begins at 7 pm.
