Reminder:
Don’t forget to attend our October monthly meeting tomorrow night, October 26. Along with a wrap up of the year and board member elections, the program for the evening will be our annual “Show and Tell”. Bring an object or artifact to show or share a family story. This is the last monthly meeting of 2026, and it will begin at 7 pm in the Knight Addition of the Depot Museum.

The final monthly meeting for 2026 will be held on Monday, October 26. The business meeting will include an overview of the year's activities, as well as a board member election. The program for the evening will be our yearly "Show and Tell". Guests are welcome to bring in family treasures and historical artifacts to show and share information about the item. If you don't have an item to show, feel free to tell a family story or share a family picture. You may also bring an unknown item to see if others can help with identification.
The meeting begins at 7 pm in the Knight Addition of the Depot Museum. The public is welcome to attend.

Meeting reminder: tomorrow, September 28, at 7pm, John Oschner will give a presentation about the 1832 Demun Trading Post between Brodhead and Albany. The meeting will be in the Knight Addition of the Depot Museum.

The Depot Museum will be closing for the season this week. Stop in tomorrow, 9/27, and Wednesday, 9/30, for a visit and shopping opportunity. All jewelry in our gift shop is 50% off! You can also purchase a “Haunted Covered Bridge” t-shirt just in time for Halloween. Other t-shirt styles are available, as well as train-themed books and toys, art prints, and other items too numerous to mention.

Mark your calendars for the September 28 meeting. Our speaker will be John Oschner, of Albany. He will be giving a program about the 1986-87 archeological dig at the site of the 1832 Jules DeMun trading post that was located on the Sugar River between Brodhead and Albany. The meeting starts at 7 pm and will be held in the Knight Addition of the Depot Museum. The public is welcome to attend.

This is just a reminder that we have another special speaker lined up for our August 31 meeting tomorrow night. Bob Block, a member of the Oregon Historical Society, will be giving a presentation on Wisconsin POW camps. The public is welcome, and it starts at 7 pm.

Can’t get to the museum during open hours? If you would like to see some things from our archives, we have recently assembled a display of aprons and vintage recipes. Take a walk down Brodhead’s 1st Center Avenue and stop to read some of the recipes and admire the variety of aprons and appliances in the Consigny Law office window. Enjoy!

Part of the 1st Brigade Band concert was an exhibition of the Virginia Reel, complete with a couple of audience members that happened to be appropriately dressed!
