🔍 Guess the Item! 🔍

It’s time for our monthly mystery challenge at the Buckeye Valley Museum!

This month’s object is something small, well-traveled, and once essential to daily life over a century ago. Take a close look at the photo and tell us—what do you think it is? 🤔

Here’s a hint:
It once belonged to Dr. Evans of Palo Verde, a dedicated physician who made house calls across the region. In 1896, while on his way to help a patient, Dr. Evans tragically lost his life in an accident. He is remembered as the first person laid to rest in the Palo Verde Cemetery.

💬 Drop your guesses in the comments below! We’ll reveal the answer soon.

Did you know? đź‘€

Buckeye’s first library didn’t start as a building—it started with 19 determined women from the Buckeye Woman’s Club in the 1920s. They created a small lending library by sharing books from their own homes, helping bring reading and education to a growing desert community. 📚

This grassroots effort eventually grew into the public library system Buckeye has today—a great example of how local volunteers helped shape everyday life in early Arizona.

This May, the Buckeye Valley Museum warmly invites our community to stop in and spend some time with us.

While we proudly honor our service members year-round, this month we’ve added a special display dedicated to our military heroes—past and present. It’s a small way to recognize the courage, sacrifice, and commitment of those who have given so much for our freedom.

We encourage you to visit before the month is over, reflect, and remember. Bring your family, share in the stories, and help us honor those who served.

We look forward to seeing you.
