Influence Follows Trust

Influence is often misunderstood as persuasion or visibility, but real influence runs much deeper than that. Influence isn’t about being the loudest voice - it’s about being the most trusted one.

You don’t earn influence by talking more. You earn it by communicating with clarity, consistency, and care. Real influence grows slowly, built one conversation, one decision, and one follow-through at a time.

And it can be lost just as quickly when words and actions don’t align. Whether you’re leading a team, guiding a client, or raising a family, influence grows when people believe two things: you understand them, and they can trust you.

People don’t follow noise. They follow trust.

Trust is what makes people lean in instead of tune out.

Reputation isn’t created in big moments - it’s shaped in the small, repeated ones. People may
remember what you say in a meeting, but they form opinions through your everyday communication.

Your reputation isn’t built on perfection. It’s built on presence, tone, clarity, and follow-through. Over time, those habits stack up. They quietly tell people who you are, what you value, and
whether you can be counted on.

You don’t control what others think of you, but you do control how you show up. And long before you speak, your communication has already told a story.

So ask yourself: What story is your communication telling?
Because your reputation is speaking - even when you’re not.

Your communication sets expectations before you ever say a word.

Our communication speaks even when we’re silent. What story are we telling?

It’s the little things people remember: how you respond, whether you follow through, and how you show up consistently.
