Meet Alpha. 🐾
I captured this moment just as Alpha was coming back down after leaping into the air to catch his ball.
What really makes the image for me are those beautiful eyes. In the middle of all that movement and excitement, Alpha was looking directly at me — and for a split second, everything came together.
Sometimes the best photographs happen in a fraction of a second. You just have to be ready.

Sometimes patience is all it takes.
This morning was nearly perfect for capturing a reflection of the Capitola Venetians. The water was calm, the light was beautiful, and the colors were reflecting wonderfully — except for a group of birds having a great time bathing and splashing around in the water.
So I waited.
Eventually, one by one, they moved on. The water became still again, and for a brief moment everything came together.
This is what I captured this morning.
There’s something special about those quiet moments when nature finally gives you exactly what you were hoping for.
