This is a simple way to make your rim interesting. The trick is to leave your rim thinker than normal. On this mid-century modern themed piece, I used, you guessed it, harvest gold, leaf green, cinnamon (Mayco underglaze) which honor the appliances from that time period. 🤭

Made it big beauty today. . . We'll see if it survives. It cantilevers out beyond the feet pretty far. . . With all of that clay removed, it's iffy. I had to patch it several times. It sure is pretty NOW!
