Sullenberger Aviation Museum is proud to partner with the Women in Aviation International First in Flight Chapter for Girls in Aviation Day on Saturday, September 19, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. 🩷✈️

Girls ages 17 and younger can enjoy hands-on activities, explore aviation exhibits, and meet women working throughout the industry. The first 300 registered girls receive free museum admission. Accompanying adults must purchase general admission tickets.

Come with us as we travel to runway 18R-36L at Charlotte Douglas International Airport - CLT to figure out why their oldest runway is getting a new name! Thank you to and Director of Engineering Ashton Watson for sharing with us about their runway redesignation project. 🏙️🛫

Aviation Pathways invites middle and high school students to explore aviation careers on Sunday, September 20. Students will meet industry professionals and participate in interactive stations featuring flight simulation, aircraft design, engineering, maintenance, safety, communications, and more. Local Girl Scouts can also earn aviation-related badges while engaging with industry professionals and interactive learning stations.

The first 300 registered students ages 17 and younger receive free museum admission. Accompanying adults must purchase general admission tickets.

Visit us the first two weekends in September to witness our Passenger Talk series!

During these events, visitors will hear first-hand accounts from the people who experienced US Airways Flight 1549, the historic emergency water landing now known as the Miracle on the Hudson. Both events will conclude with a live Q&A with members of the audience.

Charlotte’s vibrant cultural landscape is strengthened by the people and organizations working together to make our city a dynamic destination.

Last week, our VP of Advancement, Director of Marketing, and Special Events Manager represented Sullenberger Aviation Museum at the Greater Charlotte Hospitality and Tourism Alliance general meeting. It was a pleasure connecting with fellow industry professionals and exploring opportunities for collaboration!

We look forward to building these relationships and creating meaningful experiences for our visitors and community!
