We are having the best time so far in our summer camps! Not all of our camps are sold out--a few spaces are available in our upcoming camps, so send us your kiddos and teens to create and explore with us!

June 22-26 (next week!)
Up in the Air! (ages 5-8): Kids will use drawing and storytelling to dream up magical, silly flying machines. They’ll sketch their ideas, paint colorful designs, and then build them into moving sculptures that twist, spin, and float—like something out of a dream!

Kinetic Creations (ages 9-12): Explore art that floats, twists and spins! Campers will create mobiles and sculptures inspired by artists like Alexander Calder, Ruth Asawa and Theo Jansen using paper, plaster, wire, and other materials.

June 29 - July 2 Puppets! (ages 9 -12) Step into a world where your imagination takes center stage! In this four-day camp, campers will explore different types of puppets; from wiggly stick puppets inspired by Ashley Bryan, made from household materials to marionettes with paper-mâché heads and stringed arms and legs that can dance, wave, and act out stories. This week also offers a Teen Studio Intensive for older artists!

July 6 - 10 Clay Creators (ages 9-12): Calling all clay creatives! Students will learn the fundamentals of working with clay as they explore hand building techniques of coil, pinch, and slab. In addition, they can enjoy a wheel throwing experience to learn basic throwing processes. (The 5-8 year old session is sold out this week)

Please join us for an Artist Panel discussion in our gallery Thursday, June 18, from 6:30–8 PM with artists Christine Hubbell, Mary Ann Pals, and Kuhn Hong. Jeff Manuszak, Visual Information Specialist and Artist Residency Coordinator, will also be with us.

"Site/Sight" runs from June 4 to August 1, and the next scheduled event is a Third Friday Artists’ Reception on Friday, July 17, 4–7 PM. All events are free and open to the public, and all are welcome.

We know that so many in our Duneland community are without power after a wild night of storms, and we are grateful that CAC is up and running. We look forward to hosting our Art After Dark event and seeing folks here this evening. Please know that online ticket sales have closed.

We hope that everyone else can enjoy the evening under the lights in their own homes soon.
