“The Gallery of Hope”

Six Paintings on the Way to a Proof in Physics

The Clark Humanities Museum will exhibit reproductions of six acrylic paintings composed and dictated by Hadi Madjid, Ph.D.

Completely blinded, Madjid uses his imagination in place of sight as the foundation for his thinking. Starting in 1977 through to the present day, Madjid collaborates with physicist Dr. John M. Myers to show the workings of imagination and surprise in physics.

These paintings commemorate Madjid's visions, including a vision of a braided hole in a field of blue. For Madjid and Myers its meaning was: "Find a hole in mathematical physics, but beware: cut no strands of logic." In 2005 they succeeded.

Opening Reception:
Wednesday January 28, 4:30 p.m.-6 p.m.
