What part of the planet are you drawn to? What space moves you? Is It the macro or the micro? The horizon of mountains and clouds? The water-eroded stripes of desert hills? A drop of water on a flower? The feel of the rich soil growing your food? The Cleveland skyline? There is no wrong answer! This planet is awesome in the original sense of the word - something that fills us with awe.

In a completely not-looking-to-enhance-our-effing-algorithm-because-that-is-really-icky, if you want to comment below and tell everyone what part of our world really moves you, or if you love them all so very much you can't choose (also acceptable) please go ahead.

If you would rather have that conversation face-to-face without a glowing screen and big brother's fleet of robots reading your thoughts, show up at the Opening Reception of "For the Love of the Land" at Pinwheel Gallery, Friday, June 5th from 5:30pm-8pm and share your thoughts and see what inspires 30+ local and regional artists. We would love to see you, and have that discussion in person!💖

Pinwheel Gallery is proud to introduce Glenn J. Murray - one of the fantastic artists in The Bike Show!!

GLENN J. MURRAY: Painter
"Cleveland speaks to me: Her old bones: the neighborhoods, factories and bridges. Her veins and arteries; the river, her lake, ore boats and tugs, rusted industrial bones, and her color moods: from the blue winter snows to lurid purple and pink sunrise and sunsets. I aspire to follow in the footsteps of Cleveland regionalist such as Ora Coltman, Eastman, Edmonson, Gaertner and Biehle and the Ashcan School, especially Bellows, Sloan, Luks and Thomas Eakins."

The Bike Show is on display until Friday, May 22nd.

Pinwheel Gallery is proud to introduce Ian Torben - one of the fantastic artists in The Bike Show!!

Raised in an environment that embraced artistic expression, Ian fell in love with the macabre perspective of life and death. Ian focused his drive into learning practical special effects and creature design. Moving from physical to digital media, as well as 3D printing, has given him the freedom to explore the limits of his creativity, and opened up the horizon of sculptural limitations.

The Bike Show is on display until Friday, May 22nd.

Pinwheel Gallery is proud to introduce June Hund - one of the fantastic artists in The Bike Show!!

June Hund, originally from Detroit, Michigan, moved to Cleveland to take a position as a full-time reference librarian at Case Western Reserve University. Although now retired, she devoted many years to the Mandel School of Social Sciences. At the School, she had the opportunity of curating an art gallery featuring numerous Northeast Ohio artists.

As a mixed media artist, June has long been engaged in creating art by blending various materials and techniques, including photography, collage, and other mediums. This approach allows her to creatively manipulate images. Her recent works often feature layered applications of physical paint combined with hybrid Al-assisted techniques, exploring themes related to the complexities of contemporary life.

Currently, June volunteers as an original co-founder of the Rust Belt Photo Collective (RBPC) and contributes her time to other local arts organizations in the Cleveland area.

The Bike Show is on display until Friday, May 22nd.

Pinwheel Gallery is proud to introduce Athena Torben - one of the fantastic artists in The Bike Show!!

Athena Torben is a self-taught artist based in Cleveland whose work explores memory, nostalgia, and the quiet melancholy of moments left behind. Through atmospheric imagery and emotion, Athena creates pieces that reflect on the passage of time and the distance that forms between childhood and adulthood.

Return to Nature is a gouache painting that reflects on the moment we choose to grow up and leave parts of ourselves behind. The work invites viewers to consider how childhood memories become overgrown with time, obscured by rust, weeds, and distance while still existing beneath the surface. The piece asks viewers to reflect on the emotional weight of becoming an adult and what is surrendered in the process.

The Bike Show is on display until Friday, May 22nd.

Pinwheel Gallery is proud to introduce Wendy Pallas Peace - one of the fantastic artists in The Bike Show!!
Wendy Pallas Peace is a Clevelander who grew up in the Superior/St. Clair neighborhood and now resides in Old Brooklyn. She graduated from Cleveland State with a Bachelor of Fine Art and a focus in painting. While attending graduate school, she also focused in Fine Art. The influence of the urban environment can be seen in her citiscapes and use of colors. She is versatile and enjoys painting landscapes, figures and animals in an impressionistic candy-infused fever dream style in oil on canvas. Her intention is to use the play of color to elicit a feeling of happiness from the viewer. Wendy's art follows the Latin motto, "ars gratia artis". Art for the sake of art.
The Bike Show is on display until Friday, May 22nd.

Pinwheel Gallery is proud to introduce Richard J. Konisiewicz - one of the fantastic artists in The Bike Show!!

Richard says: “A blank canvas is a challenge to any painter. For me, my thumbnail sketches and color schemes guide my composition as I settle into working before my easel. As an avid fiction reader, I have great admiration for people who write books and short stories. My artwork is my way of telling a story authored by me, not in words but in paint on a canvas. My completed artwork frequently draws inspiration from my journeys overseas, nearby scenery, and family gatherings. Each viewer is welcome to imagine their own story about what unfolds within each painting.”

The Bike Show is on display until Friday, May 22nd.
