Pinwheel Gallery is proud to introduce Charlotte Lees (she/her) - one of the fantastic artists in The “For the Love of the Land” Show!!

Charlotte Lees transforms and translates the elements of nature to express a personal vision of her environment. Beauty matters and her goal is to create lasting images that connect man to his surroundings.

She was born and raised in Cleveland. Ms. Lees received the Ohio Arts Council Individual Artist Fellowship in 1995 for her outstanding body of sculpture.
Living on wooded property, trees became the perfect material for her wall and free standing images. Many of the cherry trees were logged, planked and carefully aged before carving. Most of her wood sculptures are intricately painted. This is a result of her early training as a graduate student at the Cleveland Institute of Art.

Being well travelled she has incorporated images from diverse cultures into her work. On a recent trip to Oaxaca, Mexico she became fascinated with embossed metal and has incorporated this technique into her artist vocabulary.

Art is her passion. Ms. Lees has successfully completed both public and private commissions in stainless steel, aluminum, bronze and wood. She has said that she enjoys the freedom of developing concepts without material constraints.

“For the Love of the Land” is on display until Friday, July 17th.

Pinwheel Gallery is proud to introduce Carmella Orban - one of the fantastic artists in The “For the Love of the Land” Show!!
I’m a self-taught photographer, located in Cleveland, Ohio, focusing on documentary style street photography. I practice monochrome photography in urban environments and explore existential themes through photographic images. I consider myself a hobbyist and have been practicing for over 20 years.
I've a long admiration of black and white movies – smokey dim lit bars, shadows and alleys, the way light spills on to a cobblestone street, people lingering at a bus stop – these scenes are the poetry of the everyday, the kind that reveals itself only when we stop insisting on clarity. They contain a truth that color cannot hold.

“For the Love of the Land” is on display until Friday, July 17th.

Carla Wagner is a Cleveland based artist who creates intuitively invented worlds that come to life on canvas with qualities of rhythm, spontaneity, and balance. Intentional automatic drawings influence her painting practice while mark making, color relationships, and staining are foundational to her works.

She earned a B.F.A. in Painting with a minor in Drawing from Kent State University in 2025. Wagner was awarded First Place for the Flora 2026 Juried Exhibition at White Rabbit Galleries and First Runner Up Undergraduate at the 2025 Kent State Student Annual. Recent exhibitions include: Breakthrough Sounds, Valley View, OH; Summit Art Space, Akron, OH; Valley Art Center, Chagrin Falls, OH; White Rabbit Galleries, Barberton, OH; Stella’s Art Gallery, Willoughby, OH; The SRCA Gallery, Kent, OH; Door 2 Art Studio, Hudson, OH.

Barbara Murnane is a painter and printmaker based in Cleveland, Ohio. Born and raised in the midwest, the attitudes and atmosphere of its landscape and citizens inform her artistic practice, providing inspiration and drive to create across the rust belt.
Barbara explores physical and metaphysical light, natural elements, the human figure, and expressive narratives in her work. These works aspire to move viewers to consider the confluence of nature, humanity, and self, especially in a rapidly accelerating era.

Pinwheel Gallery is proud to introduce B. Coy (she/her) - one of the fantastic artists in The “For the Love of the Land” Show!!

My work exists at the intersection of memory, survival, beauty, and resistance. I create paintings that blend painterly and impressionist influences with moments of abstraction, alongside sculptural works built from natural and found materials using traditional techniques. Tree branches, vines, and reclaimed manmade objects allow me to speak about history, land, warfare, humor, and the persistence of Native identity.
I began pursuing art seriously after leaving medicine during the COVID pandemic, carrying with me decades of public service and defense experience that continue to shape my perspective. As a Native American woman, my art is both personal and cultural—a proof of life, a scream into the void, and evidence that we are still here and still speaking.
Whether joyful, unsettling, or playful, I hope my work invites viewers into visual thought experiments that linger long after they leave the room.

“For the Love of the Land” is on display until Friday, July 17th.

Amie Sell is a sculptor creating art that reminds humans that we are nature and nature is us. They use clay to create colorful sculptures and objects inspired by the interconnection of nature, the joy of flowers, and the humor of animals. The pieces featured in the exhibit are biomorphic sculptures that narrate the unseen, symbiotic relationships of insects, plants, and fungi in their ecosystems. They were created for an exhibition at the Cleveland Botanical Garden in 2025. Amie studied art and sculpture at the University of Wisconsin Green Bay (1997-2002) and studied ceramics at Lillstreet Art Center, Chicago (2019-2022).
