Stop by to see Vita's work in the Stairwell Gallery-up through Wednesday, May 27 at 3pm. MSA is open this week on both Tuesday & Wednesday from 11-3 & is then closed between exhibitions from May 28-June 5.

Vita is a Canandaigua-based artist and an exceptionally talented painter whose small paintings are like sparkly gems-boasting with colorful appeal and deep value structures. While painting small she achieves incredible depth within these XS-scale works. They portray an undeniable magnetism, timelessness, and connective beauty between subject and viewer...

Vita is a member of the Ontario County Arts Council & earned a Certificate in Fine Arts (Painting and Drawing) from the Poltava Art School, Ukraine (2000).

'Born and raised in Ukraine, I began my creative journey with formal training at a local art school. Painting has remained a constant thread throughout my life – a personal and heartfelt way to connect with the world around me.

Nature has always been my greatest source of inspiration, from my early years until now, living in the beautiful Finger Lakes region of New York. Here, surrounded by forests, lakes, and wildlife, I find daily reminders of the wonder I aim to
capture in my work. Using acrylics and gouache I love to blend realism with a touch of whimsy, painting countryside scenes, wild creatures, and the quiet magic of the natural world. I hold a special love for painting flowers - their intricate, enchanting structures never cease to spark my curiosity and inspire me to create.'

Featured in our gallery shop today is: an awesome hand-made print by Lyons-based artist, Pat Bacon. Pat has exhibited here for many years in the Main Gallery & we also showcase her amazing printmaking work in our gallery shop!

This little gem is a photo polymer, hand inked & printed, intaglio-based card. To achieve this, Pat uses a newer photo polymer process (within the photogravure family of printmaking techniques) relying upon a light sensitive plate that once exposed to light and then etched/run through water (like the traditional, intaglio family of printmaking), is hand-inked, run through an etching press, and transferred onto the paper. Each print is unique in how it inks, transfers to paper, and runs through the press.

Her work has ties to landscape, place, & time--and often features the richness and diversity of organic forms found within nature. This card is 5x7 and was created in 2023. It is $15 and comes with a plastic sleeve--the ideal gift for the garden lover and beyond...

Pat Bacon is a Rochester-based contemporary printmaker who has been exhibiting work at Main Street Arts for a very long time. She is a member of the Print Club of Rochester, exhibits in solo, invitational, and group shows throughout our region and so, so much more. Pat works in both 2D and 3D formats and her website is: https://www.patbacon.com/

Thank you Pat!
