The building, a former auto parts store, now provides work space to over 20 artists and entrepreneurs. The painters, sculptors, printmakers, designers, performers, organizers, and makers comprise some of Columbus' best creative individuals. Together they work to cross-disciplines and form new connections, with an emphasis on quality. Located in the heart of the Discovery District, Blockfort is just steps away from Columbus Museum of Art, Columbus College of Art & Design, Columbus Metropolitan Library, the Hills Market Downtown and several other cultural and commercial establishments. Blockfort aims to be an active creative hub, a resource for artists & entrepreneurs, and a destination bringing energy to the neighborhood.

Ibeliz Guadalupe found her home at Blockfort in 2018. Born in St. Croix Islands, she moved to Columbus to attend the Columbus College of Art and Design.

She was the Pecha Projects award winner of 2025 which presented the opportunity for her to be the Featured Artist for this year’s Latino Heritage Art Fest. Ibeliz had the prestigious opportunity to create the event poster and Esperanza awards that will be presented at La Feria.

They are currently an adjunct instructor for Fashion Illustration Techniques at CCAD and instructs Yoga + Art at both Columbus Museum of Art and Blockfort.

One of her goals for the year ahead is to finalize and launch her Affirmation Deck which focuses on elements and connection to nature. Her hope is to launch in 2027.

Ibeliz will be at the Latino Heritage Art Fest today and can be found in her Blockfort studio during most openings and events.
