We are a trusted authority for museums, galleries, and collectors with over 25 years of expertise. The complete spectrum of Cuban art has been, for more than twenty-five years, our field of expertise and with pleasure it will continue to be so. The gallery is recognized as a leading authority in Cuban art. We are frequently consulted by museums, art galleries, art collectors and auction houses reg

arding the authenticity of artworks. We also provide multiple services and assistance in art collecting. We offer you the accumulation of our experience backed by our integrity and honesty. In our gallery we recognize that, in view of the broad and complex world of the plastic arts, which spans from the cave paintings of prehistory to today’s postmodern creations, it is unthinkable to claim critical capacity and expert knowledge over everything. Today, specialization in the different spheres of the arts has become a pressing necessity. The gallery currently represents an exceptional group of established and emerging Cuban artists such as Alfredo Sosabravo, Flora Fong, Gina Pellón, Vicente Hernández, Miguel Florido, David Rodríguez, Ramón Vázquez, Sandro De La Rosa, Lí Domínguez Fong, Giosvany Echevarría, Dayron González and Irina Elén González.

Cernuda Arte was honored to welcome Ada Ferrer Dayton-Stockton, Professor of History at Princeton University and Pulitzer Prize-winning author of “Keeper of My Kin: A Memoir of an Immigrant Daughter”, to the gallery yesterday. It was a privilege sharing our exhibitions with one of the most vital voices in history and literature working today.

She was joined by her daughter, Alina Ferrer, and Wilfredo Cancio Isla of “Café Fuerte”.

Following her tour, Dr. Ferrer sat down with Arlena Amaro of Telemundo 51 for an upcoming interview on “Conversaciones con Escritores”, airing Fridays at 8 PM on Telemundo51.com.
We are grateful to welcome such influential voices into our gallery.

Last night, Cernuda Arte was honored to host a conversation with Professor Alejandro de la Fuente, regarding his new book and exhibition, ‘My Own Past: Afrodescendant Contributions to Cuban Art.’ This immaculately researched presentation proposes a fascinating historical re-balancing, and was a call to action for historians, collectors, critics, and institutions to continue examining the incomplete history of Cuban art.

Beyond the illuminating discussion, Professor de la Fuente also gave a book signing of this excellent new publication, available at Books & Books The world-class exhibition of the same name, ‘El Pasado Mío / My Own Past: Afrodescendant Contributions to Cuban Art’ is on view at the Lowe Museum of Art, alongside ‘Afrocubanismo: Highlights from the Ramón and Nercys Cernuda Collection,’ also curated by Professor de la Fuente. These must-see exhibitions will be open until September 12, 2026.

We thank everyone who attended, and hope you enjoy the images of last night’s event.

On Saturday, February 28, the Gallery had the pleasure of hosting 25 collectors for an exclusive preview and guided tour of our newest exhibition, 21 Distinguished Artists from the 21st Century, led by Mr. & Mrs. Ramón and Nercys Cernuda and Nico Hough. It was a privilege to engage in thoughtful discussions on the history, evolution, and market of these remarkable artists with such an exceptional group.
We are thrilled to be reactivating our program of private tours and collector meetups. Saturday’s event marked the first in a series of exclusive gatherings we have planned for 2026 and beyond. We invite you to stay connected for updates on future editions and look forward to welcoming you to our next one.

21 Distinguished Artists from the 21st Century officially opens to the public on Friday, March 6 from 6-9pm, only at Cernuda Arte.

In the meantime, we hope you enjoy this curated selection of images from Saturday’s event.

Last week, Cernuda Arte hosted two excellent lectures by Dr. Alejandro Anreus, author of the new book, Modern Art in 1940s Cuba: Havana’s Artists, Critics, and Exhibitions. These talks explored the social, cultural, and creative forces shaping the avant-garde movement in Cuba during the 1940s and 50s, offering insight into one of the high watermarks for Modern art in the Americas.

Dr. Anreus, a historian, curator, and educator, is a leading expert on this subject. In his presentations, he expanded on the key themes of his book, which takes the first comprehensive look at the Cuban Vanguardia and the creative, political, and social forces behind the masterpieces of the era. Going beyond the formal analysis of art, his work examines the broader context of Cuban society during these years. The talks, like the book itself, were enriched by images of artworks, rare archival material, interviews with influential figures, and a history of the venues and exhibitions that facilitated the flourishing of Modern art on the island and internationally.

As a writer and curator, Dr. Anreus’ achievements are substantial. His extensive bibliography as a writer and editor include notable works like A Companion to Modern and Contemporary Latin American and Latino Art, Mexican Muralism: A Critical History, Orozco in Gringoland and The Social and the Real: Political Art of the 1930s in the Western Hemisphere. He has also curated exhibitions at major institutions such as the Jersey City Museum, Montclair Art Museum and El Museo del Barrio, and lectured at renowned venues like Harvard University, the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), and Cernuda Arte.

Copies of Modern Art in 1940s Cuba: Havana’s Artists, Critics, and Exhibitions are available at Books & Books Amazon, and at fine booksellers everywhere.

We hope you enjoy the images from this event.
