Artists are invited to submit works that use collage as a primary element for a juried group exhibition, “Fragments.” We welcome creative works that reflect the rich history of collage as well as contemporary approaches, including those that might challenge our perception of what a collage might be.

Deadline for submission is November 16, 2026. The exhibition will be on view in March 2027. Artwork will be juried by Daisy Fodness-McGowan, Executive & Artistic Director of the RiNo Art District in Denver. Cash prizes will be awarded. Details via link in profile.

Introducing Vero Silva, a 2026 Spark NOVA recipient… Each year Spark members select two artists to receive our NOVA (Nurturing Outstanding Visual Artists) award, which is designed to foster professional development, artistic growth, and engagement within Denver’s creative community.

Vero’s exhibition, “the echo of your touch” is on view through November 3. She states, “Through creation, I am able to turn intangible memories, emotions, and sensations into physical objects– solidifying my experiences as real. I paint to turn memory into movement, and vulnerability into a visual language that is easily understood. I find that the human experience often mirrors the land around us; permeable and transient yet undeniably enduring of hardships and pain. Overwhelming yet serene. My work pays homage to the resilience of our minds, and its connection to our bodies.”

1) “loving while losing,” 2026, acrylic on hospital blanket, 42 x 3”0
2) “falling up the stairs in reverse,” 2025, graphite on rives bfk, 34 x 28”

Jennifer Evans’ exhibition, “Local Ingredients,” is on view through November 3. Jennifer explains, “As a textile & paper collage artist, I am inspired by cultural traditions, stories and crafts. My practice explores the complexities of identity, particularly in relation to women’s roles. The artist Luchita Hurtado expressed, ‘Everything in this world, I find I’m related to.’ This sentiment resonates with my belief in our interconnectedness across cultures, our shared humanity & desire for connection. Art has the power to change the viewer and can serve as a catalyst for empathy and change.”

2) “Alegria: Joy as Protest,” 2025, textile collage, 120 x 80 x 1”

Madeleine Dodge’s exhibition, “Splendor of Fire, Seeds of Light,” is on view through November 3. Madeleine states, “My work is born of a relationship between materials and any number of inspired processes arising in the present moment. There are always two questions in my mind at any time: ‘What if…?’ and ‘What next…?’ This inevitably links my practice with an experimental mindset and keeps me living always on the edge of the unknown. I confess that I sometimes wish for more security, but that is only a passing thought, and I do like surprises.”

Mai Wyn Schantz’s exhibition, “Tangencies” is on view through October 6. Join her for an informal artist talk: Tuesday, September 22, 5:30-7pm.

Mai Wyn paints in oil on stainless steel. By exposing areas of the metal substrate, a unique juxtaposition results between the industrial material and her nature subject matter. “Despite our high-tech world, we are still innately tied to the land. My paintings are about this relationship. They are an exploration of our evolving and often tenuous union with nature as well as our inherent desire to stay connected to it. I seek out beauty and balance in the unification of these opposites.”

1) “Two Bodies,” 2026, oil on stainless steel, 30 x 30”
2) “Finding Ground,” 2026, oil on stainless steel, 30 x 30”
3) “Skipping Stones,” 2024, mixed media collage, 9 x 9”
