We had an amazing time at our artist lecture on Friday! 🤩

Dr. Chris Ashworth discussed his history of collecting as well as a few notable artists on view in our 'Ozark Regionalists' exhibition.

In addition, RAM Executive Director, Michael Hall, and Gallery Director, Casey Seamans, presented Dr. Ashworth with the RAM Impact Award.

This award honors an extraordinary supporter whose contributions have shaped the museum’s growth and mission. This special recognition is reserved for individuals who have made an outsized difference through mentorship, donated time, educational leadership, gifts of art, or financial support. This award was presented to Dr. Ashworth, for the immense value he adds to RAM and his passion for collecting, sharing, and educating about fine art.

If you missed the lecture, don't worry! There's still time to view the exhibit – 'Ozark Regionalists' will be on view through May 10.

RAM remembers William “Bill” Kropp III ❤

Former RAM Board Member and President, Bill Kropp III passed away on February 26.

Bill earned his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and his Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas. He began his legal career in private practice, focusing on employment and workers’ compensation law, where he guided individuals and families through challenging times. Later, he transitioned into long-term care and healthcare operations, serving in leadership and counsel roles across Arkansas and Texas. Throughout his career, Bill worked to make complex systems more humane, advising on labor and employment matters, shaping workplace policies, managing litigation, and supporting facilities caring for vulnerable residents.

Beyond his professional life, Bill was a dedicated member of the Fort Smith community. Influenced by his uncle, disability-rights advocate John Bell Jr., Bill supported efforts promoting accessibility and inclusion. Along with serving on RAM’s Board of Trustees, Bill also contributed to hospice and healthcare-related charitable initiatives. His civic work reflected his commitment to dignity, compassion, and service.

Bill Kropp III was a champion of the Regional Art Museum even when Board meetings were still being held in the living rooms of the individual board members’ homes. He was extremely dedicated to the continued success and expansion of RAM. Even after leaving the Board, he was always there for us. Bill was a wonderful man of honesty and integrity, and we will never forget the roll he played helping make RAM what it is today.

🎨 This image was one of Bill’s favorites from the RAM Permanent Collection. Noon Window by Kevin Arnold.
