Tonight is First Friday Art Walk Friday Harbor!! A self guided tour throughout towns art spaces. You will find art, snacks, sounds, and community along the way!

Excited to have Susan Williams’ mesmerizing trophy art and mixed media sculptures joining us at Windy Gallery and Studios!

She finds her influences on beautiful San Juan Island in the bountiful wildlife that visits her daily, enriching her life and firing her imagination. She pays homage to them through her sculptures. Her love of textiles, painting and beads is ever present in her work as they weave across the surface to make one of a kind pieces.

April Randall’s Whales Watching: Anchor Dropped is the latest and largest in her Whales Watching Series at 9”x20”.

This series explores the sea life, primarily orcas, watching us humans from their perspective. April is a sailor who lives aboard and was inspired by years of photos she has captured of where whales used to be, having missed them surfacing while trying to get her camera from the boat’s interior. She imagined the world they live in watching us from below as we watch for them.

Come enjoy this piece and many others, all by local island artists, here at Windy Gallery and Studios. We are open 10-7pm daily and will be joining in the First Friday Art Walk Sept 4th, 4-8pm with additional refreshments and artists ready to chat about their work!

Very fitting, Abigail Morris brought in her Goodbye August in today. This beautiful landscape has paused time, capturing this sunny time to save it for a new day, allowing you to pull it out during the darkest months to remember what summer feels like.
