Seriously?? A thunderstorm forecast on our rain date?!
The ICC Karaoke in the Park concert will now be a “KARAOKE IN THE LOUNGE”CONCERT! Please come see our show on WEDNESDAY, JUNE 17th at 10:00am in the ICC LOUNGE - 218 S. State Street, Geneseo. Harbor 🦀 Blend? Lemon 🍋 Pepper? St. Augustine 🍊Blend?
We visited our friend Kim at A Spotted Apron this week with a dual mission in mind - we had a fish recipe to prepare for this week's Take & Bake meal and she needed the opinon of a subject manner expert regarding the accessibility of her store layout. What a lovely hour we spent sampling three different infused olive oil and seasoning blends she had crafted for us! We arrived to a bright, cheerful and fully accessible store where Kim had prepared several fillets with the featured blends. Each ICC participant was able to taste the samples and choose which blend they would like to use on their Take & Bake meal. Stop in and see Kim at A Spotted Apron (on Wolf Road, just northwest of Geneseo)...tell her ICC sent you! 👩🏼‍🍳👨🏼‍🍳

Special Olympics State Track Meet at Illinois State University: two of ICC’s four state-qualifying athletes were able to compete today in Normal, IL. Congratulations to jMax on his Gold medal finish in softball throw! Congratulations to Rachel on her Silver medal finish in the 100M run and Bronze medal finish in softball throw!
Thanks to the families of our SOILL athletes for their support, to Coach Kisha for volunteering to coach our inaugural season of Track & Field and to the ICC staff for providing the support that makes team practices happen! 🩵

Vocational exploration took two teams to two locations this week. We got to experience the greenhouse at Pink Prairie Gardens where they generously donated TONS of beautiful flowers to ICC (thank you!!). The next stop was more familiar at Dollar Fresh Market but we imagined what it would be like to be an employee and practiced being personal shoppers and baggers.

Every trip to the Niabi Zoo is a battle of the elements! Last year, we were drenched in a downpour -- this year the heat/humidity was nearly unbearable. 🥵 At least we look happier in the pics than we might have been in reality, lol. 😄
