Our first walking tour of the season is this Friday, June 5 at 11 a.m.

Join us for our "Downtown Glens Falls" Tour which explores the major historical events and figures that shaped Glens Falls, from the signing of the original land patent to becoming one of the most prosperous cities in New York.

Participants can park at the Chapman Museum in the lot behind the Museum off Bacon Street.

Tours are $20/person or $15 for Chapman members. Payment is required at time of registration. A minimum of four participants are required for tours to run and no more than 15 participants per tour.

We’re keeping our exhibition theme going with another Franklin-themed trivia question!

While traveling to Canada in 1776, Benjamin Franklin and Charles Carroll stopped at the Schuyler Mansion in Albany. In his diary, Carroll noted that two of Philip Schuyler’s daughters joined them for a meal.

Can you believe June is right around the corner? 🌈 That means our Family Craft Program is back at the Chapman Museum!

Join us on Wednesday, June 3, from 3:30–4:30 p.m. to create a Coffee Filter Rainbow using coffee filters, markers, a splash of water, and plenty of creativity.

Parental participation is encouraged, and supervision is required.

Can’t get enough Benjamin Franklin? You’re in luck!

Join us for a special Conversations with the Past program on Wednesday, June 10 at 7 p.m. at the Chapman Museum.

“Benjamin Franklin Slept Here: The Founding Father’s Failed Mission to Make Canada the 14th Colony” will be presented by Sean Kelleher, Trustee of the Saratoga County History Center, Historian for the Town of Saratoga, and Vice Chair of the Saratoga 250 Commission.

Before independence was declared, America’s greatest diplomat attempted one of his boldest missions: bringing Canada into the Revolutionary cause as the 14th colony. In spring 1776, Benjamin Franklin traveled through the Saratoga region on his way north, hoping to make it happen.

This program explores why that mission failed, how it helped shape the Declaration of Independence just months later, and how Franklin turned early defeat into later diplomatic success in France, ultimately helping secure the alliance that won American independence.

From muddy Hudson Valley roads to the courts of Versailles, discover Franklin’s transformation from rejected envoy to celebrated ambassador.

Join us on Tuesday, June 16, from 6–8:30 p.m. for a fun, hands-on Barn Quilt Painting Workshop led by Darcy from Creative Jam!

📍 Held at Creative Jam (6 State Route 149, Lake George)

In this beginner-friendly workshop, participants will paint a beautiful 14” wooden barn quilt featuring a traditional tulip-inspired geometric design. Choose your own colors and create a one-of-a-kind piece perfect for indoor display or a protected outdoor space!
