Poetry Writing in the Gallery
Monday, June 15 | 6 to 8 p.m. | $15
Join poetry guide, Nancy Levenson, for a night of blending your love of art with your own poetic words. This is a 2-hour special program that will be held during the Curtis Center's Watercolor Society exhibit. Through a mixture of examples, discussion, and prompts, youβll have the chance to respond to selected works of visual art and generate your own poems. We will have an optional group sharing and open mic.
Through the artful interplay of words and imagery, these poems offer a fresh perspective and expand upon original artwork, bridging the gap between visual and literary realms. Nancy encourages all levels of poets to explore how images can evoke emotion, memory, and story, and how we can translate what we see and sense into powerful poetic language.
