What we’ve been up to lately!
On April 24th we attended Earle Fest at the Calumet Regional Archives at IUN hosted by archivists Dan Hill and Mike White, where “the Region’s history comes to life”.
In addition to multiple tasks during his internship, Mike tackled eight unprocessed boxes of records and items pertaining to early settler, George Earle, the founder of Liverpool, Lake Station, and Hobart. In addition to many log books, receipts, letters, newspapers, maps, and more ephemera, GE’s pipe and paper spindle were discovered!
The event was well attended and we all had a great time!!
