Nicole Longnecker Gallery is taking Afro-Futurist artist Anthony J Suber to Tulsa for next Monday’s opening of the art exhibit in conjunction with Phillips Theological Seminary’ “Tulsa Race Massacre Symposium.” This will be our 4th annual honor to collaborate with Phillips. Anthony will also do a Q&A at Greenwood Rising museum on Tuesday evening. If you are in Tulsa, be sure to visit either or both of these free events.

We look forward to seeing artist Anthony Suber's exhibition “Speculative Liturgies: The Perpetual Bloom of Greenwood” opening April 27. This is the same evening as our Tulsa Race Massacre Lectureship. Go to events.ptstulsa.edu to learn more about Anthony Suber and Phillips’ annual Tulsa Race Massacre Lectureship. Special thanks to the Nicole Longnecker Gallery for making our art exhibition possible.

"Hecho Para Ti" (made for you)
A group exhibit curated by Carlos Donjuan

It's Valentine's Day and art lovers can come by before heading out to celebrate with you loved ones.

"Hecho Para Ti," a group exhibit curated by artist and educator, Carlos Donjuan, is comprised of artists that analyze their experiences and history through visuals that investigate their Latino experiences in America. In a time of discouragement, division, and uncertainty these artists continue to resist and empower through their art.

One component of the artist’s work carries a greater emphasis on community in effort to remain a beacon of light for those that feel unheard, afraid, or lost. The works in this exhibition document and narrate the experiences of the artists through their own use of unique and intimate imagery. The paintings, sculptures and mixed media pieces created utilize a visceral fusion of concepts that combine imagery from family photos, sign painting, tattoo culture, Latino Culture, Catholicism and Pre- Colombian Art, among others.

"Hecho Para Ti” (Made for You) carries a greater purpose now more than ever as a form of inspiration for the community. Artists include Ricardo Oviedo, Joy Reyes, Arturo Donjuan, Nadia Rosales, Jesus Trujillo, Michelle Gonzales, Emily Donjuan, Francisco Marquez, and Carlos Donjuan.

TOMORROW from 6-8
“Fluid Motion:
The Coexistence of Order and Chaos”
the third rendition of the Traveling Gallery of Fluid Motion’s exhibition series, which bridges the evolving dialogue between science and art.
Following Chaosmosis: Assigning Rhythm to the Turbulent at The National Academy of Sciences in Washington D.C. (2023), and Spiraling Upwards at The Leonardo Museum in Salt Lake City, Utah (2024), this year’s edition expands both conceptually and contextually. Presented across two distinct venues, the Houston Museum of Natural Science and Nicole Longnecker Gallery, the exhibition takes a curatorial step in dividing its presentation.
This split reinforces the exhibition’s central inquiry, how do we flow between spaces, and what migrates with us?
Exploring the convergence of art and science through the elemental forces of air and water, Fluid Motion: The Coexistence of Order and Chaos is rooted in the spirit of the Fluxus movement of the 1960s - whose artists embraced the everyday, the ephemeral, and the unpredictable as fertile ground for art. The exhibition asks: How might we consider fluidity not only as a physical phenomenon, but also as a metaphor for social, cultural, and political transformation?
