Poetry meets photography this weekend ✍️

Houston writer Sarah Gajkowski-Hill invites you into the CCMH galleries for an inspiring poetry workshop. The session begins with thoughtful prompts responding to works on view, followed by conversation, questions, and collective creation. Inspired by the work of Clarice Marik Snokhous, participants will explore writing from photographs in the form of postcard poems. No writing experience required, just curiosity.

Nakládaný Hermelín, Czech marinated cheese, is a true pub food. Hermelín is a mold-ripened cheese that hails from the charming town of Sedlčany in Czech Bohemia. It's a cousin to Camembert and Brie, so you know you're in for a treat.

This pickled cheese is found in the vibrant street pubs of Prague, where centuries of history meld with the tantalizing scents of a city that knows the true essence of comfort food. Have you tried it?

Marination: Slice the cheese and layer with onions, garlic, chili, paprika, peppercorns, and spices. The magic happens when you seal it in a jar filled with neutral oil and let it marinate in a cool, dark space for 3-5 days to 2 weeks (Avoid olive oil).

Best served with rye bread and Czech pilsner beer.🧀🍻🇨🇿
