This painting was a fun challenge because I was able to paint the couple from life but had to freehand the temple in the back.

I literally had a photo of them and ripped it out to put in front of a printed photo of the temple and that was my reference. gotta do what you gotta do.

A little memoriam for this sweet pup. Just look at those eyes!

In love with this commission I completed last night.

I was really pushing myself to capture detail, but also keep a painterly quality. You might be surprised by all of the little nuances in hue that can be found in skin tones. Pinks, blues, greens, oranges, purples, reds, and browns are all present!

Prep for oil painting class with me and Krissa!

I’ve been teaching at for a year now. I have been so grateful. Grateful to Krissa, grateful to all those who attend and grateful to the support we have gotten from the community. A big thanks to everyone and here is to many more great classes to come 🥂

The last one might be my favorite 👀

I’m an oil painter but I love the convenience of watercolors and the more I practice with them the more I like them!

What’s your favorite medium??

IN LOVE with this still life from class last night. It’s my very own tea set that I bought from a garage sale. I loved seeing everyone’s iterations of it.

Just look how good they did! 😍

More progress on this commission! I’m posting in segments because it’s so large and will require some layers.

At this stage I am putting in major color blocking and figuring out my tones. So far I’m loving the color and the textures 🤤

Next step is to add details.

Some people like the natural texture of canvasses, I don’t 🤷🏻‍♀️. Here is how I prep my canvases to get a more interesting texture.
