AMERICA 250-OHIO SPECIAL EVENT
TRAILS AND TALES: THE OHIO-ERIE CANAL
Thursday, April 9th at 7:00 PM at Historic Hall
Join us for a presentation about the history of the OHIO-ERIE CANAL, presented by an Interpretive Park Ranger with the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. This canal system was a 19th century engineering marvel that transformed the state into a commercial powerhouse. The Ohio-Erie Canal connected Lake Erie to the Ohio River, linking Ohio to global markets via the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico. Hand-dug, the canal included many features that laid the groundwork for Ohio’s economic and population growth. Related photos and artifacts from our museum collection will be on display at Historic Hall.
